I have been working at Roehl Transport full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hometime if u live down south.

    Cons

Inconsistent pay, plenty of short haul loads, putting cameras in all trucks soon. Gycdl program isn't as advertised they will do ever in their power to cut miles and pay towards the end of your mileage quota of the contract, basically forcing you to quit if you have a family to provide for. Not worth your licenses they will literally have you deliver to someone's congested backyard. 500$, 640$, 380$, 187$ was recently a month of earnings mind you I've been an employee at least a yr at this point.

    Advice to Management

Be more honest with mileage, pay, and better communication between dispatch. More miles and don't have your OTR drivers doing local routes.

I worked at Roehl Transport full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good equipment. Good maintenance staffs. Nice facilities.

    Cons

Very poor dispatching and customer service. Appointment times and dates are wrong over and over again. Very low driver productivity/ pay due to these basic dispatching and customer service issues. Fleet managers not driver focused. Management seems to have a "don't care attitude" about on-time customer service or driver productivity. I think maybe they make their money training new drivers and that is their primary focus.

    Advice to Management

Decide what path Roehl is going to take. Either be a training schools for truckers or be a trucking company that delivers great service to their customers and cares for the drivers that provide that good service. I wonder if the Roehls really know whats happening in their own company? They should not take the word of their so called management team.

I worked at Roehl Transport full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free lunch, paid training, small class size.

    Cons

Treat you like crap, talk bad about every other company. They fired me after I got sick and was unable to drive....which they forced me to drive anyway. Afterward, they sent me a bill for $5,000 to pay them for the training. They do not care about their employees and do not see them as prople.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees like people.

I have been working at Roehl Transport full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

See the country. Great starter company. Decent training. Pay goes up fast at first.

    Cons

Low miles. If you drive a long load thursday to deliver Monday and start the week with a reset and 2000 miles you get slowed down rest of week ending at 3000 . Your average weeks are normally 2200-2600 when they should be 3200 or more. After initial pay raises they keep you where they want you through mileage, but call it your choice pay.

    Advice to Management

treat your employees with respect again and pay them better. Give them better trucks instead of base models. Stop being greedy with supplies. Practice what you preach, flat bed needs better securement equipment, as well as enough. Safety isn't being the slowest trucks on the road.
