I worked at Rogers Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The ones that are great are really great (even the not-so-great were still pretty great), cool stations, amazing, kind, supportive and fun creative department. and director.

    Cons

Limited opportunity growth, radio industry suffering/looming layoffs, nothing against the actual company.

    Advice to Management

Wear sunscreen. Even if you don't think you need it.

a lot of good pros. good company, decent management. decent employees. a lot of perks. awesome compensation. time goes by quick when busy. early leave. awesome benefits

I have been working at Rogers Communications part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Commission based on performance
    Great work environment
You will develop great skills, its an awesome place to start your career!

    Cons

Little room to grow within the company. Opportunities within retail are non-existent. It could take years to get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Reward your loyal employees. Keeping a good salesman in their position seems logical but it will only secure revenue in the short term. Soon the good salesman will get tired of the company and leave, seeking other more exciting and rewarding opportunities (as they always do).

I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Rogers has great benefits and competitive salaries across the telco industry. There are a lot of opportunities to grow with Rogers if you are willing to relocate.

    Cons

There is not a lot of room for growth if you do not want to move to Toronto. Rogers does not have an eye on how things work in Nova Scotia, and you will often feel forgotten.

    Advice to Management

Consider the cloud based computing world we live in, and consider the lower cost of living in the Maritime Provinces. Maybe allow for more office based jobs in this area rather than almost entirely retail.

I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits
Employee discount off all Rogers brands
Executive leadership team understands things need to change
    Decent salary
    Always changing

    Cons

ELT is aware things need to change. But it's slow to filter through the company. People that have been around too long are resistent to change

You are not always given the tool's to do your job. My phone barely works (it's an old store demo), laptops are terrible and so heavy. They changed the poliCy around tablets and now no longer provide them to field staff, it's important to their job.

    They're getting weird about expenses

    Advice to Management

    Speed up the changes

    Pros

Great benefits, 50% off Rogers services. Shares accumulation plan it's really good.

    Cons

Too much nepotism. Management skilsl are not the more accurate for the excellent quality of professionals managers have to handle. Focus on the management and not the regular employees when the need to cut people arises

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on management, there's a lot of nepotism and that's very discouraging., prevents excellent people and professionals to do an excellent job
