    Pros

Good people. Lot of opportunities for contractors.

    Cons

Middle management positions - not challenging. Full of politics and prejudice. Pay Scale not great. Management strategies and plans - None.

    Advice to Management

Every 6 months doing restructuring is not helpful for middle managers. Team is constantly in forming and storming mode and never get to performing mode with high turnovers and constantly changing plans.

I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rogers provides a lot of learning opportunities. Worked on some really interesting products here. Great benefits and a working environments (located at the downtown toronto campus). Computers and systems are very modern and up-to date. My mangers are always available to meet. There are opportunities for growth, but limited for career development - advancing upwards is not likely.

    Cons

Company is very top-heavy, and with so many managers, approvals on things can take a very long time. This leads to long-stretched out projects and countless cycles of changes.

The products we work on sound amazing on paper when we start, and come out mediocre when we finish. Its not a company that strives to push innovation. The way the team structure is, each team works on their own projects and rarely interacts unless needed with other team. Collaboration is not very good, and everything seems to be a negotiation when working together.
