I worked at Rogers Corporation full-time

    Pros

There is a lot of flexibility in your schedule and work location (in office or remote) if you are a salaried employee and your manager likes you. Global organization that can get you exposure to a variety of other regions depending on your role. Salary and Benefits are the high end of average.

    Cons

This is probably the most negative work environment I have ever experienced in terms of the day to day attitudes and experiences. There are very few leaders within this organization, mostly managers whom should never be followed. The organization claims to have a certain culture and they talk about it during interviews and town halls but that is the extent of it. Speaking Openly and Make Decisions Quickly are... absolutely not valued and in fact you are likely to be penalized for either.

    Advice to Management

I joined this organization because from the outside I could see the amazing potential. I left this organization because once I joined I realized that in practice you do not care about your employees or the culture. I would take a real look at your management team, manager level and above, especially those with 2+ years of tenure. Current employees won't speak up because they are afraid of being penalized and if you... look at your turnover you'll see that employees, especially newer ones, are leaving at a quick pace.

I worked at Rogers Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Not much besides getting a paycheck for production workers. 2. When there was a compressed 12 hr schedule you get 3 and 4 days off every other week (but that's gone now so this is also a con).

    Cons

    1. Poor management who can't be trusted. 2. Hourly employees made to work less than an 80 hour pay period while salaried people don't have any cuts made to them. 3. Managers who don't do their jobs and are afraid of confrontations so the just let their workers sort things out for themselves. 4. Very unfriendly environment. People don't say hello to each other only the ones who have known each other for a long... time. 5. Pay scale is below average for production workers. 6. Mediocre health plans and PPO probably going away altogether next year. 7. No sense of a future because it feels like you will have your job cut or asked to move somewhere you don't want to be at any moment. 8. Overall lots of NEGATIVITY when you talk to coworkers. 9. Safety is supposedly a top priority but if it's going to cost money to make the job safer guess what? They don't do it. They make the workers figure it out. 10. Use to be a good company when you talk to old timers but with the new management things look very bleak. Production will probably all go to China some day.

    Advice to Management

Before you make changes to save money, do some research in how the area you are making changes to actually work. You can't just make cuts and think the quality and output will stay the same or get better.

    Pros

    Competitive pay. Good location

    Cons

Systemic white boys club. Used to have a female CFO - but they ran her off. You could be the SAME level as everyone else in the room and only the female gets asked to do the administrative work. No partnership.

    Advice to Management

There are people with brains who don't need to "take notes" for you. You have the most admins ever seen since the year 2000. Don't have to be a man to lead. Systemic under reporting of this issue. All white male leadership is oblivious to this notion that they are VERY unaware.

I worked at Rogers Corporation full-time

    Pros

-No micromanaging - Work 3 day 1st week and 4 day 2nd week - Free tampons and pads for employees - Filtered water stations -Depending on supervisor and team lead there may be a birthday or special celebration potluck ONCE in AWHILE

    Cons

-HOURS WAS CUT FROM 84 HOURS TO 74 HOURS FOR FULL TIME EMPLOYEES - Company didn't replace hours cuts for any benefits to employees - COMPANY IS SUPER CHEAP!! - Looking to make any cuts for upper management to receive their bonuses ( Overheard managements laughing about it ) - Company cut over 20+ Randstad Staffing employees for company cuts - Company recklessly spending money, Management stated "we cut even... investing in a new machine" (Companies are not in business to break even, but gain) -There are no bonuses or raises for great performance - NO recognition for going above and beyond in any role - Benefits through BCBS high deductible plans ONLY -No PPO Plans - On 4 day week you'd work; Two 8 hours shifts which are two 10 mins breaks and one 30 min lunch Two 12 hours shifts which are two 20 mins breaks and one 30 mins lunch -Company will cross train into other departments areas and employees again will not receive any bonuses, pay increase, benefits for additional work -Training was unorganized, it is really based on the person they are pulling to train you and you might not be fully trained - If you night at end of the week you would only be able to talk to HR on Thursdays unless you go during the day - 3 Occurrences for written notice (They don't provide a written notice or warning) - 5 Occurrences and you let go -Your sick and vacation time will be reduced for the year depending on when you are hired on full time with Rogers - On 12 hours shift you can come in late to work at least 8 hours BUT its a full occurrence. - Only 1/2 occurrence when you are a few mins late - From talking to employees who are 10+ years tenured they all seem to know that the company is going down hill and is currently not employee friendly. -BEWARE if they ever start hiring again you might as well apply for any other company (Amazon etc..) - All employees in other departments are unhappy with the company

I worked at Rogers Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great company, great pay, lots of potential but the mom and pop mentality needs to go in order for this company to grow.

    Cons

Poor leadership, lack of accountability, zero respect for each-other or ones experience, you are surrounded by people with can’t do attitudes especially in Corporate. AND, I couldn’t agree more with the 2016 post as it relates to HR, Finance and IT. Finance is a disaster with high turnover, IT is no better and the HR leadership team is just horrible. I’ve never seen an HR department with such foul language and... bullying type behaviors.

    Advice to Management

Don’t be afraid to rip off the bandaid and clean house. Listen more to your employees. You need more “can do” employees than “can’t do”. And, if you don’t clean house, you will continue to lose the “can do” employees. Rogers has a bright future but a lot of change is needed in order to move the business forward.

    Pros

Great benefits (medical, 401k, wellness, tuition reimbursement, etc) plus a very encouraging culture. When the people around you genuinely care about everything they are working on, it encourages you to care. When you care, work feels less like work and more like accomplishing something. Sure, it is still a job with the daily grind. But overall, we are contributing to moving the world forward and powering the future... and that is a really great feeling!
