Long hours, no flexibility and bad staffing

Jun 19, 2019 - Consultant in London, England, England

      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great brand, incredibly smart people, good learning curve, great exit opportunities across PE, Corporates, Startups . Headhunters will contact you everyweek for top exits.

      Cons

Terrible managers, no HR, no flexibility, still unclear on the staffing policy only thing clear is no interest in consultant interests or career growth. Lot of difference between offices between culture and career opportunities. London is focused on DDs (80%) and on Aerospace/Industrial. Top clients and brand within these industries (Rolls-Royce, Airbus, KKR, Blackstone).

A promising consulting firm with caring mentors

Aug 29, 2019 - Intern in Shanghai, Shanghai, Shanghai
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      1. Nice mentor. Generally, an intern is treated like cheap laborforce. But my mentors are happy to help me with my work and give advice to me. 2. Steep learning curve. Roland Berger engaged in the strategy of many leading companies, so you could learn a lot in the intership experience.

      Cons

      The payment is not high

One of the best employers for ambitious and eager to learn people

Aug 4, 2014 - Business Analyst in Milan

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Salary (around 30% above the average for a fresh graduate), learning curve (dealing with different type of projects), exposure (learn by doing, extreme exposure also for new hires, sometimes even too much), benefits (lots of them)

      Cons

working hours (varies greatly according to the project, but you can expect a minimum of 60h/week up to 100 h/week)

      Entrepreneurship at its best

      Pros

As an intern in consulting at Roland Berger, I was part of a real project team. The colleagues in my team accepted me as team member from the very beginning and invested in my development. I had regular feedback sessions with my project manager and supervisor and therefore took advantage of a steep learning curve. Roland Berger is a good place for people with drive who bring in their own ideas. I really enjoyed working with the people at Roland Berger - very diverse personalities. I will definitely consider working for the company after graduation.

      Cons

Working as a consulting is rewarding, but, of course, travelling can sometimes be challenging.
