Pros
Cons
  • Work/Life balance was a joke as I was on travel for as much as 8 months at a time with only a few trips allowed back home (in 15 reviews)

  • Hidebound in some of its processes; some senior management slightly too in thrall to external consultants (in 23 reviews)

I have been working at Rolls-Royce full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Interesting to see your work in action on an aircraft or marine application.

    Cons

When I started here, I was surprised at how how far behind the curve Rolls-Royce is in terms of technology. We are at least ten years behind that of comparable companies in terms of analysis computer power, and general technology infrastructure. Simple things like mailing out pay stubs while most other companies send these out electronically, to a laughably antiquated homemade software apps for things like labor tracking software, and engine instrumentation. These may seem like small things, but they add up to large costs in wasted time. The management is oblivious to how much this impacts day-to day activities.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to how your business is actually run, rather than patting yourselves on the back.
