      Pros

Great working environment, with alot of support.

      Cons

      No stability, or job security

    2. Looking to buy townhouse/apartment real estate in very low income neighborhoods (at $15k-25k) to rent out. I haven’t found any at those prices on Roofstock, Zillow, etc. Any other places I can look?

      3. Has anyone invested in a rental property before a primary residence? Any experience with roofstock or REIT? I’m single, 30, and live in LA so a down payment on a decent home would take years

      4. What's been the best investment you've made? Looking into rental properties via roofstock. In the very early stages, still learning about RE investments and whatnot. Need to develop 2nd income stream

I own about 35 units of rental property in the Midwest. It's been a fantastic investment for me and the basis of my future security. The depreciation benefits alone are amazing. If you don't know, there are four sources of wealth from real estate: capital appreciation (driven by rents and cap rates), tax depreciation, cash flow and debt paydown. As far as direct ownership of rentals goes, it's important to figure out what you're good at and have time for, and outsource the rest. I've developed a particular niche where my analytical skills give me an edge over other investors. You can bet your ass I'm not out changing air filters or collecting rents, but I have reliable people who do that.

I have an interview tomorrow where I get to ask questions to the interviewers. I usually ask questions like “how long have you worked here” “what’s your fav thing about working here” along with the obvious “what would be your expectations of me and how do you measure it” any other good ideas for questions?
