I have been working at Rooms To Go full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great Health Benefits with on site clinic
    - Phenomenal work/life balance
    - Company truly cares about employees - during the hurricanes, they gave out cases of water, they opened their warehouses as shelters for employees and their families, they give out turkeys every year for Thanksgiving
    - Any technology you need to do your job is always available
    - Fun culture, a lot of events and the wellness department puts together a lot of activities
    - Often times people are promoted to other departments from within
    - Emphasis on training and certifications in some departments for continuing education

    Cons

    - There are some people in management who got there by being good at what they did but they make horrible managers - these people need to be transitioned back into roles that they are well suited for
    - The restaurant selection near by is awful
    - Lack of vacation days - only 10 per year for the first 10 years - though a lot of managers help make this work by being flexible
    - Like with many companies employees who are promoted from within to fill roles are not compensated as well as an external candidate might be

    Advice to Management

Work on playing to employees/managements strengths

I have been working at Rooms To Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great company to work for.

Lots of work going on to keep and get things modern.

Health benefits for family are great.

    Great equipment provided developers.

The other developers are very helpful, we all want to see each other and the company succeed.

Management listens to technical expertise. The decision making process is transparent so when decision goes a different direction, you know why.

Mid-size company that strike a good balance: Efficient like a small company, Stable and realistic expectations like a large company company.

    Cons

Not really anyone's fault, but the company's in a transitional size, as they grow and take on bigger challenges in technology. These growing pains are present, but the management transparency and positive attitude toward team work and cooperation make this less painful.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at Rooms To Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

An associate is nothing without a good leader; Thank God I have had the pleasure of having a great manager who really went above and beyond the call of duty to help me improve my numbers and having me develop the confidence to speak with my guests. I love the team mindset that's involved in my store and the money is pretty decent.

    Cons

I would love for the signal to be improved upon. My tablet will work slowly when a customer asks me a question that only the tablet can let me know and when I try to use it the signal won't be strong enough so I would have to awkwardly hold up my arms to try and gain a stronger signal which makes the sales experience kind of funny with some customers but with other it'll make you look weird.

    Advice to Management

Fix the signal and the slow tablet situation other than that I absolutely LOVE this job.

Great managers that really care and work hard for you. Huge oppertunity to make an excellent income if your self motivated and self driven. Its what you make of it.

I have been working at Rooms To Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, great income opportunities, your sales team will become very close and if you're lucky you'll get to work with a team like mine. ❤️ Again amazing income opportunities and for each holiday you work you get one day off for working that holiday.

    Cons

Mandatory 12-hour shift once a week and only two weeks vacation a year. You work a lot and don't have much time to do much else or travel for that matter. Otherwise, I really enjoy working here just wish I could travel a little more with all the great income I'm making haha.

I have been working at Rooms To Go full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Benefits, 401k, Healthcare .....

    Cons

The company wants you to sell mattresses and mattresses and more mattresses. Forget about furniture.

    Advice to Management

Some sales associates are afraid to sell, because of all the pressure, in the end, it is a furniture store and, not a mattress store. Some time managers need some common sense..
