I have been working at Roper St. Francis Healthcare (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work to life balance. Roper has competitive pay for the area. They also have opportunities to move up in the company. They also have tuition reimbursement to continue education

    Cons

The commute. The Charleston area has heavy traffic and small spaces. Roper provides shuttles to their downtown locations to make the commute smaller.

    Advice to Management

    Loosen up a little.

    Pros

Everyone works toward the common purpose of delivering the best care possible.

    Cons

Change is not often management well. There are some areas that struggle with staffing shortages.

    Advice to Management

Improve the position replacement process. Currently it can take up to 3 months to have a replacement approved for recruitment.

I have been working at Roper St. Francis Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great, hard working co-workers. Can easily get overtime as needed. Physicians are professional and knowledgeable. Professional development program is top notch.

    Cons

Rate of pay for longevity is low. Nurses coming in make the same as a nurse who has been there for years. Cerner computer charting system is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Change computer systems or upgrade to a better version of Cerner. This system makes patient care 3 times as long and a nurses job very difficult.

Doesn't pay as well as it's competitor up the street.
