I worked at Rose Associates part-time

    Pros

The pay, some of the people you work with and the opportunity to leave early on Fridays during the summer.

    Cons

The petty and competitive working environment. The lack of organization and good system in place. People can't find anything and are blamed for it when in fact their system just sucks!

    Advice to Management

Get organized and put better systems into place so that employees can actually find things!

I have been working at Rose Associates full-time

    Pros

Good reputation and professional people to work for.

    Cons

Staff at times not being notified for new open positions, therefore not having the opportunity to make their way up in the company.

    Advice to Management

When a new position becomes available in the company regardless in which department staff should be notified in every single building and the opportunity should be given first to those employees who already been working with the company for years to apply if they meet all qualifications for such position and not hire people from outside

    Pros

Good benefits, moderate hours and management has decent office space

    Cons

Toxic work environment, forced to create an inhospitable environment for tenants (rent hikes, intense monitoring of tenants, ect ), meager annual raises, restrictive rules for both employees and tenants- doorman can't even have personal items (not even coffee or water bottles) at their stations.

    Advice to Management

Stop policing the tenants and your employees like the Gestapo- maybe then your online reviews will be more positive.

I worked at Rose Associates full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of autonomy and little red tape as long as your clients are happy with you. Many times you will end being the difference in the relationship - it all has to do with your skill set and the value you bring to the table.

    Cons

Politics and lots of changes in people, most not for the better either. The salary/compensation review that happened in 2014 where some people got 1% or 0% increases created a toxic environment that predicated an exodus of some of the best people and loss of accounts as a result.

    Advice to Management

It all goes back to leadership. The owners need to reign in HR as well as some of the shot callers before the business and the name are ruined. If you keep losing the people that brought you this far in 80+ years then you won't make it much longer. It's not too late to right the ship.
