I have been working at Rose Medical Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great team- nurses, respiratory therapists, CNAs, PTs/OTs all really collaborative and care about delivering high quality care.

    Cons

Poor pay, too much of a focus on patient satisfaction score (seemed like a higher focus on warm blankets and foot rubs than strong patient outcomes)

I have been working at Rose Medical Center full-time for less than a year

    Pros

No Call, very good surgeons and anesthesia.

    Cons

No leadership and the scrub techs don’t get bonuses for working very hard ever day. Charge nurse plays favorites. No breaks for staff unless your room starts late or you only have one surgery.

    Advice to Management

Give the scrub techs bonuses and don’t blow off their questions during a town hall meeting.

New CEO has a promising outlook and heading the hospital in a positive direction.

    Cons

Has to follow HCA corporate directives which is becoming less desireable.

I have been working at Rose Medical Center full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good coworkers, good teamwork, friendly people and decent management. Facilities are slowly being upgraded. Equipment isn't terrible, but not the best either.

    Cons

Management's hands are tied by corporate office, and the imperative is to save money above all other priorities. Meditech is the worst charting system ever created and the technology is straight out of the 1980s. Staffing ratios aren't great and we rarely if ever get an aide to help because they're always being used as sitters.

    Advice to Management

Fight harder to make your employees' jobs easier and safer. Don't give in to the HCA cut-throat corporate culture of cost-savings above all else. Rose can be different!

I have been working at Rose Medical Center full-time

    Pros

I believe RMC is the best hospital in Colorado. The employees and physicians are obsessive over quality and patient satisfaction.

    Cons

The pressure for results, specifically put on leaders, is unmanageable and often unrealistic.

I worked at Rose Medical Center full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

High employee engagement, accessible Executive Staff, strong culture of Patient-Centered Care, Safety First, and continual Pursuit of Excellence. A place where diversity is welcome and respected.

    Cons

Currently entering a season of renovation and expansion, campus foot print may change daily. Competitive healthcare market means acquiring and retaining experienced staff is a challenge. Hospitals are are dynamic, complicated systems, effective communication not consistent or timely.

    Advice to Management

Continue to over-communicate, be visible, and share your most authentic selves, knowing you just like us, people, with real challenges who struggle and keep on trying to be better is inspiring.

I have been working at Rose Medical Center part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Rose takes care of it's employees and it's virtually impossible to get fired.

    Cons

current management are not open to constructive criticism and do not enforce the value of team work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees instead of telling them to manage themselves with an issue that is out of their hands (i.e. one that involves manager intervening)
