I have been working at Rose State College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Unbeatable benefits. Relaxed atmosphere. Easy to make friends. Looks good as prior experience. Set schedules for full-time staff. Easy to move up the ranks once you're in.

    Cons

You can live off of the salary, but classified staff don't get paid a lot. Communication between departments tends to be fuzzy. Since it's funded by the state, positions rarely open up.

I worked at Rose State College part-time

    Pros

Working on campus is good for students, because they are very flexible with your schedule.

    Cons

It's higher education, so it doesn't pay very well.

I have been working at Rose State College full-time

    Pros

Good sense of community among the employees, fully paid benefits, steady work hours, and lots of holidays.

    Cons

Being subject to state budget, especially in Oklahoma means that there are times in which your job and the funds to do your job are at risk.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Rose State College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very friendly fellow employees, both faculty and staff. Beautiful grounds and recently-refurbished buildings, which provide comfortable and visually-appealing facilities. Ample parking available. Generous leave benefits, both sick and annual leave. Generous amounts of paid time off during holidays, including spring break in March, Thanksgiving break in November, and holiday break in late December.

    Cons

Lower than expected salaries for nearly all levels of employment categories. Pay raises were rendered practically non-existent for the past few years due to state-level budget reductions to higher education in Oklahoma.

I have been working at Rose State College part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I retired from Rose State as a full-time employee. The college has great benefits, great leadership, and a teamwork focus. Great place to work!

    Cons

State budget cuts will unfortunately be a challenge now.

I have been working at Rose State College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary is competitive with other area community colleges. Paid leave (annual, sick, and discretionary) is very generous. Good health insurance with reasonable premiums for single coverage.

    Cons

Campus security could be improved but overall is responsive.
