    Pros

    Great x-mas parties, Ok pay.

    Cons

They don't care about you, they just want the work done. Horrible management they all need to get re evaluated. A lot of favoritism, double standards. They need a new training system. theres so much stress on you that you wouldn't be able to concentrate because you feel like you'r going to make mistakes, which makes you over look everything. TRUST NO ONE!

    Advice to Management

listen to everyones ideas, opinions, suggestions. and when you use them give credit for it.

I worked at Rosenthal Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small IT Team (9 people including CTO)
Young Co-Workers (66% of IT team below 35)
    401K, Healthcare, Dental, average salary
    Up to date IT department
    Relaxed IT Office
    8:30-4:30 schedule
Easy work most of the time (reconnecting power cables, turning monitors on, rebooting systems, etc...)

    Cons

Lots of arrogance by executives (I would look them in the eye and say "Hello" and they would just completely ignore me even though they noticed me, they would talk down to you)

No room for growth, positions are held for years.

Manager wasn't great and resulted in communication issues: he didn't make the line between friend and manager clear (he would joke around with me but would get offended when I would do the same); wanted to be respected as someone above you but acted as if he was on the same level as you; wanted things done EXACTLY his way and no way else, even if the method you chose was still professional and got the task done quickly; would take your attention away from a task and then scold you for not getting it done quickly enough

Poor floor plan: IT office is in basement and there is an elevator to the first and second floors, but to get to the third floor you have to go to the main floor, go out to the lobby and take one of the main elevators to the third floor.

    Advice to Management

Make the line between friend and manager more clear, stop being so draconian in your orders

Little chance of promotion, poor career development. Company at end business cycle.

    Advice to Management

Develop the talent you have, stop pinching pennies.

    Pros

Rosenthal is a very unique place and one in which I am fairly proud to call home. There is little bureacracy, the employess are a tight-knit , friendly group and the work/life balance can not be beat. Ask and often you shall receive. People retire and still come to work lol

    Cons

Management has trouble implementing protocol; double standard in fairness to employees; obscene language permitted throughout the office; discretion of authorities is at times questionable; employees often resort to blatant self-promotion in order to be recognized.

    Advice to Management

Diplomacy should never be undermined and it doesn't hurt to be reminded every now and then that employees are a company's greatest asset.

    Pros

Company is like family depending what department you are in. HR is very supportive to all employees.

    Cons

Some benefits have been cut. Pay is not the greatest unless you are Senior Mgmt or well liked. Not enough room to grow in the company. People get away with not doing work while collecting a great pay. O/T has been cut from the company.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees that do the work good by giving them a liveable raise!

I worked at Rosenthal Group as an intern

    Pros

It was a good experience, there's a lot of people with a lot of knowledge in the NY office.

    Cons

Did the same thing every single day. Got paid less than reasonable wage.

    Advice to Management

    Add some variety.

    Pros

the place looks nice on the outside. Pay is O.K. but could be better for such a "prestigious firm". The holiday parties were nice. Good 401k & good insurance plans. Easy commute & nice location. Nothing else to brag about here... don't go in hoping to get a promotion in the next 5-10 years, as that is Impossible.

    Cons

Managers/ supervisors are lazy, arrogant and don't do anything. They show up to give guest appearances and to crack whips. They bring their personal lives into work on a daily basis. Favoritism & double standards are all over the company. No room for advancement. I was there 5 years and never saw anyone get promoted from within. Asking for time off or vacation time is like pulling teeth. H.R. could care less about the employees or their issues. Saw some heavy discrimination take place against co workers, even seen someone cry and things got "hush hushed". The whole management at Rosenthal has to be re-evaluated, or replaced in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Work with your staff, not against them. Use their talents to your advantage and don't belittle people. Please stop thinking that the world revolves around you because it doesn't.
