    I worked at Rosetta full-time

    Pros

    Free drinks
Lots of new technologies and clients to work with
immediate fast paced action across multiple disciplines

    Cons

    Lack of planning and estimation
Constant moving targets while using waterfall models of development
No cohesion for technologies and development best practices
Lack of developer testing of code
Long overtime work hours in 60-80 hours a week depending on clients
You are ranked against others in the same level for your company and so there is much competition

    Advice to Management

Too much chaos in the workplace with high turnaround for projects and developers moving around.

I worked at Rosetta (More than a year)

    Pros

Rosetta which has now become a part of Razorfish seemed to have first had a lot of momentum as a forward thinking technically savvy consumer engagement company.

    Cons

They ran out of steam as far as determining who they were or what they wanted to be. Created by business analysts ( as opposed to agency folks ) who bought several agencies trying to create a business culture by cross-pollenating three distinctly different companies ( in three different states ) in to one unified company.

    Advice to Management

Culture is vitally important to the success of any company. As well as moral and inspiring your staff to want to work there.

I have been working at Rosetta (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the clients we work with are awesome companies.
Depending on your department and office location it can be a very casual environment
Almost everyone in the SF office can work from home most days (more on that later)
Most of the lower management and associates are nice and intelligent people
Health Benefits are a great price.
    401k is pretty decent
CEO kills it; works really hard.

    Cons

The SF office is different than other locations; most of us get to work from home whenever which is great. We have a few resource managers/associates that aren't allowed to work from home which is awkward and you kind of just feel bad for them. Doesn't seem to make sense.
You deal with a lot of a**hole Partners and upper management that think yelling and pointing fingers is the way to solve things
No perks like other SF companies - no free food, company parties, fun activities
No culture - don't come here to make friends
    Pay is pretty low
Tech team is incredibly overworked and underpaid
Very high turnover rate in all departments, in all locations
    Very unorganized

    Advice to Management

Get organized, and have some cohesiveness between departments. Listen to lower management and associates, they may have some fresh ideas (what a concept). Let the Partners know just because they are Partners they can't treat human beings like sh**. Reward hard working employees. Treat everyone with same amount of respect.

I worked at Rosetta full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Back when I was there, your team was your family. I've had a hard time replicating the same feeling I had at Rosetta. The people I worked with made the job.

Company was filled with leading industry professionals. So for someone entering the workforce straight out of college, I learned a ton.

The company had a great culture and a laid-back, fun atmosphere.

    Cons

Things started to go down the tubes when the company was acquired by Publicis. More stress, more lay-offs, and more excuses.

Promotion cycle was a bit political. Told I deserved a promotion but they only had a certain amount they could give out. After awhile, I felt I wouldn't be able to grow at the rate I felt I was growing, so I left.

    Advice to Management

Can't say if I'd recommend this place since I haven't been there for awhile. Regardless, I think its a good place to start your career. It has helped mine through the connections I made.

    Pros

One of the best environments to work in
    Great work / life balance
Myriad of projects to work on
    National intern project
    Transparency throughout firm

    Cons

    Can't work overtime
Relatively small / boutique firm so not much lateral movement, but lots of project within each group or division
Work is kind of repetitive because of the nature of the firm

    Cons

    1. Lot of churn in management

    Pros

    - Work hard, play hard company
    - Laid back culture & dress code
    - Employees for the most part are friendly
    - Happy hours & intern events
    - Decent pay for the perks you get
    - Flexible hours

    Cons

    - Very well known for layoffs (Not interns of course)

    - Layoffs usually happened during the middle of the internship program. Some interns lost their mentors and had to find new ones.

    - Poor intern review process. You are suppose to receive two evaluations but most only received one. So by the time you were told you were doing something wrong, it was too late.

    - Employees tend to complain about the company to interns so it makes for an awkward experience.

    - Company outlook looks cloudy at best.

    - Company is only as transparent as they feel necessary.

    Advice to Management

Don't lay off employees during the internship program. It looks REALLY bad from our perspective. Also work on the evaluation process for interns. it's not fun being told you've been doing a bad job all summer but are never given the opportunity to fix it.
