I have been working at Rosetta Stone full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers. It feels like a start-up with all the new products and initiatives.

    Cons

Little career growth and development. Learn on your own with little directions/mentor-ship.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees' growth and offer them learning opportunities to groom them into leaders.

    Pros

This is a company whose mission is to help people learn another language. Great brand awareness.

    Cons

Still thought of as the program that comes in the yellow box.

I worked at Rosetta Stone full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Tremendous brand recognition. History of a well-respected program in the language learning space. Great for K-12 and Universities. Consumer program is virtually the same as the Corporate program, which is also a Con.

    Cons

Confused management. Four CEOs and four organizational changes in seven years have created a chaotic atmosphere rife with poor communication and confusion. Ongoing show of how smart the President thinks he is, through regular meetings, where he speaks about product changes that have no impact on the day-to-day routine for those actually working at the company. To add further insult to injury, in their zeal to appeal to The Street, they make claims and changes that have little to no impact on the bottom line. Product has not changed significantly in 25 years. The consumer/retail product is virtually the same as the corporate program and sells for 25% of the cost.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the way of sales. Stop adding layers of bureaucracy. Reduce the price of corporate program to compete with retail. If you remove the barriers, there will be more sales and The Street will like you too. It's really quite simple.

I have been working at Rosetta Stone part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible. Great supervisors who are understanding. Online/remote work so don't have to spend money on gas. They give you all the equipment you need( sans computer)

    Cons

Low pay. No room for salary increase based on experience, or education or years of service.

I worked at Rosetta Stone full-time

    Pros

Met a lot of great friends. The brand is powerful and helps your career.

    Cons

Focused on quarterly revenue, does not seem like it is diversifying in the space and doubling down on a single product line.

I have been working at Rosetta Stone full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Unlimited PTO - which you need because the company is a stressful place to work

    Cons

My experience at Rosetta Stone has been nothing but stressful. The company is going downhill, management is poor, coworkers are competitive for no reason, and there is no room for personal growth.

The environment is toxic and issues are systemic. Everyone on the team I work on has expressed issues with the culture/strategies/workflow and nothing is ever done about it. Team members don't work as a team, passive aggressiveness is a big problem, and management has said things that are demoralizing and inappropriate. Multiple reports have been submitted to HR, and again, there were no actions to resolve any issues. Already, multiple team members have left- churn is high.

I would not recommend working here and unfortunately, do not see any indication that things will change.

    Advice to Management

If leadership is not working, replace them. Find leaders that build teams and can support a culture of respect and team camaraderie. Find leaders and team members that have appropriate skills for the job. Listen to employee surveys and take concerns seriously. Empower HR to take actions when needed.

I worked at Rosetta Stone part-time

    Pros

Friendly and fun environment. They used to hire internally a lot. The rate has decreased recently, but there is still some room for growth.

    Cons

Often cutting money from areas that need investing and spending too much on cases that do not need it.
