I have been working at Rosetta Stone part-time for more than a year

    Pros

You have set scheduled...your students are from all over the world so you do not have to worry about when students go on holiday because many of my students are adults however I have found when teaching students during school hours they attend the class even when they are out of school. I have no complaints and my supervisor is awesome.

    Cons

The pay is low compared to other online esl companies and hours are not many but you can grab classes to substitute to make more hours..

I worked at Rosetta Stone full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Mission driven organization working to foster cross cultural communication makes your heart feel good. Unlimited vacation policy is awesome.

      Cons

Lots of leadership turnover gives employees whiplash. Newest regime doesn’t actually care if people learn, doesn’t even speak a foreign language and doesn’t respect women.

      Advice to Management

You can’t be a mission driven organization if you stop caring about learning outcomes. You can’t foster cultural awareness without a diverse leadership team.

I have been working at Rosetta Stone full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Really flexible schedule. Friendly coworkers that work hard but are not stuffy. Great cause of learning.

      Cons

A bit scrappy in the dev region, but it works.

      Advice to Management

Keep on improving every year and keep showing employees you care.

Rosetta Stone is a promising organization, Human Resources unfortunately is not a promising department.

I have been working at Rosetta Stone full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

There are many smart and brilliant minds at Rosetta Stone and everyone is friendly. Flexibility and free breakfast on Fridays are also great to experience. The organization has improved leaps and bounds and is very well known to the marketplace. I am sure if you land in the correct department, your Rosetta Stone experience can be a great one to remember.

      Cons

Unfortunately, Human Resources is a mess. The leaders treat employees like pawns and are not equipped to implement strategy and direction by any means. They gossip more than the employees and ever since the change in leadership to the current two HR leaders, the desire to go to work is non-existent and diminishes everyday. Lastly, when there are only 18 positions in HR and 10 employees have quit/terminated in less than...

      Advice to Management

Hold the HR leaders accountable. Maybe recommend leadership training or change the leaders completely. Especially when there is a workforce that wants to succeed, but lacks the support.

I worked at Rosetta Stone full-time

      Pros

Fair pay. Flexible work life balance. They hire some inspiring people who truly care about the overall mission of an e-learning software product.

      Cons

Zero communication from the top down. So many leaders only care about how they look on the surface, but could care less about the overall satisfaction of their Dept. The CHRO needs to go. Almost half of HR has either left or been asked to leave under the disguise of leaving voluntarily. They get rid of their best employees and keep the ones they can brain wash. From the looks of it, everyone who has left has gone on to...

      Advice to Management

Let the experts do their work, and stop looking for issues, creating your own fires and thinking you can fix your own problems by either pushing your staff out or removing them.

      Pros

Friendly co-workers. It feels like a start-up with all the new products and initiatives.

      Cons

Little career growth and development. Learn on your own with little directions/mentor-ship.

      Advice to Management

Invest in your employees' growth and offer them learning opportunities to groom them into leaders.
