I have been working at Ross Stores for less than a year

    Pros

As an intern, you are given a lot of trust and responsibility that one should take advantage of to gain real-life work experience. As a CPP student, many of the material we learn in classes are transcribed into the work force here. All of the work content is hands on, and you are given enough time/liberty to work on projects. It's a good place to get started, gain exposure, and even consider a career. Ross does offers a 20% discount to interns everyday, and 40% off the store on select days.

    Cons

As an Industrial Engineer, you must decide if productivity engineering is the route you want to take. Sometimes working Saturday may be required, however not sure if that applies to the interns.

I worked at Ross Stores part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The 20% discount is a nice perk although it doesn't extend to your immediate family members. The pay is good as a part-time job for students. The job is relatively easy as well.

    Cons

I worked there during the summers for three summers and each summer there was a new manager because of the corruption or mismanagement of the last one. I never had a good manager while I worked there. One of my managers actually would change the times the employees clocked in to save payroll because they left work early every day and had to pay their assistant managers overtime to cover for them. The leaving early and cutting payroll actually happened with all three of my managers. It was an extremely unprofessional environment while in the stockroom we were expected to get everything onto the floor with only two or three people in each area because of the lack of employees due to payroll. Honestly there were a lot of issues, and corporate never does anything even if you alert them about them.

I worked at Ross Stores part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - It was pretty laid back, there wasn't someone constantly over your shoulder 24/7 - If you love moving around constantly, this is the job for you - 20 % discount on anything in the store, jewelry is 10% - they have a double discount day

    Cons

    - merchandise on sales floor wasn't very organized - you were timed based on how long it took for you to run out merchandise - be prepared to be scheduled a few hours a week no matter how good of a worker you are

I have been working at Ross Stores full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Awesome Discount. 20% off throughout the year and 40% three times a year! Honestly the discount is what makes working here worth while.

    Cons

The pay and the lack of hours. This job is more so for a teenager or someone that does not have any real responsibilities.

I have been working at Ross Stores part-time for more than a year

    Pros

20% discount and a 40% discount several times per year, usually flexible with scheduling, lots of training and chances to move up if you ask (depending on location)

    Cons

If you get promoted it is very difficult to step down, daily ratings if you are in leadership roles or at service desk, hard to get full time positions because they are usually filled up already, the pay raises are very minimal if they even occur, inconsistent standards between stores which leads to confusion when transferred
