    Cons

You have to do go backs when it is super slow ,cash register is timed and gives you a score sometimes it is customer's fault for receiving low score,I didnt have training I was just put on the register my first day without knoqing how to work it.

    Advice to Management

At least have 1 day or a couple of hours of training on register but other than that management was great.

    Pros

The discount for being an employee.

    Cons

Everything was horrible working here, the management, the employees were lazy, to much favoritism and everybody rather be friends instead of co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Be careful who you hire and the management crew needs to be trained again..

    Pros

Company is doing well and is conservative in decision making to stay successful. Buyers and field leadership are treated very well.

    Cons

Morale issues within HR group. Company is always planning for the worst and cutting so workers are on edge. Executives keep promoting themselves while lower levels get told budgets are tight.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting yourself and give credit to the great workers you have who keep working hard. Appreciate your teams.

Employees that work in the stock room are very underpaid for the work they do.
Managers expect a lot for what the company pays their employees

    Pros

    Discount
Close knit coworkers depending on personalities

    Cons

    No benefits at part time
    Management is a joke
    Horrible flexibility

    Advice to Management

Hire associates who are serious about moving up in the company. Don't always trust what a supervisor says. If an employee comes to you about something they did wrong, that they're admitting to, don't make them feel like everything they do is incorrect. Don't allow front and supervisors to disappear for two hours and have an associate without authorization do all returns

I worked at Ross Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-If working 8 hours you would receive 2 15 and 1 30 minute break.
Really that's all ive got nothing else was even satisfactory

    Cons

-Even though they say their going to work with your schedule, they won't I rely on a bus to get home and would be put until 1130 at night when the bus was well over. Discussed with manager who seemed annoyed and like I was a burden even though this is about my personal welfare of getting home especially at night. Did end up changing schedule but didn't seem at all happy about it!
-People put in place of Managers who have no people skills whatsoever. My last day a Manager became very condescending and abusive in how they were speaking with me as if I was an imbecile even though I was not trained properly from the beginning. When told Manager to not speak to me this way I was told oh well basically! Pathetic
-Unreal Expectations/ Told to just get in there and do anything they wanted without basically any training. Their idea of training was to stick me with another co worker and have me work beside them, so now i'm basically distracting them from their work (not fair to them) when a Manager could have spared a measly half an hour each day working with me instead of sticking me with someone who is expected to meet a certain time and quota for their job but instead suffer because they have to train a new person because the Managers don't want to be bothered.

Only worked here two weeks because it was plain out terrible

    Advice to Management

Properly train your employees, it is not at all their fault, other employees fault or better yet the customers faults that your employees are lacking in knowledge on certain things ie (Cash Register, Crazy phone system, Back Stock Room or Fitting Rooms) If you are not willing to properly train them. I was given less than what seemed like a day of training over the two weeks ive worked there and was just expected to not fail, yeah ok that's not at all unprofessional.
