I worked at Ross Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's relatively easy work and the people you work with are great! Also has good pay and gives a raise after a year.

    Cons

Had a hard time keeping managers during my last year there. It's also retail, which is always just difficult to work with. Values customers over employees.

    Advice to Management

    Say longer than three months...

I have been working at Ross Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discounts are great! The employees are wonderful most of them anyway, a lot become friends outside of work

    Cons

No weekend's off, assistant managers are rude and ignorant talking down to employees, raising they're voices in front of customers throwing you into a fire meaning they expect you to know they don't show or teach you

    Advice to Management

Screen your assistants! A lot of them seem real but are sneaky and shady.

    Pros

Well paying job. That's how they get you to put up with the abuse.

    Cons

Little help. Very secretive management. Very little communication with employees. Once someone decides they don't like you, feels like all management sets you up to fail.

    Pros

    Convenient

    Local
    Nice coworkers

    Cons

    Don’t have enough time
Doesn’t work with my school schedule

    Advice to Management

    Fix your crap

I just got hired a few days ago and I already want to quit. I got little to no training. They gave me shifts that don’t work well with my school schedule. Honestly I thought it would be great to have a job that could possibly give me something else to do outside of the house when I’m not in classes but after thinking about it I highly doubt that I want the job anymore. They take the next costumer before the first one has had a chance to pay and gather their things. Ross isn’t the type of store where you just grab one thing and rush out. It’s retail you’re meant to feel like a valued customer and that you want to come back in and shop, not that you’re holding up a line or some bs like that. I worked at target and even they had been customer service than Ross does.
