I have been working at Ross University

    Pros

Excellent IT department, excellent training in different courses and methods on teaching

    Cons

Increased communication and introduction needs to be performed

    Advice to Management

Excellent acceptance to the faculty - but an increased onboarding should be carried out. I think having an overall introduction to the faculty is important for all new personnel.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Ross University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good benefits--TONS of paid time off, decent medical/dental/vision, progressively increasing yearly bonuses, academic travel and book allowances (book allowance can be used for technology, as well), personal travel allowance (in recognition of the fact that Dominica is pretty far from the home countries of most faculty). The location (Dominica) is breathtaking, the culture and land are wonderful. I have recommended...

    Cons

The DeVry Medical overlords, et al. tend to create nightmare-level bureaucratic inefficiency. Faculty seem to often (not always, but mostly) get promotions based on their ability to grease wheels at upper levels; far far too many faculty are given directorships that come with huge bonuses but add nothing to the school or to the students' experience. It's SO bloated at the top. The most disappointing aspect of working...

    Advice to Management

Streamline upper-level positions. Stop shoving parent-corp products down the throats of your employees and students, and instead act like you care about more than reporting to your shareholders that X number of users are enrolled in Software Y. Publish accurate data regarding student success rates, at all levels--leaving med school at the end of two failed semesters leaves a student $60k in debt with nothing to show...

    Pros

the work environment is very enjoyable and makes one feel engaged with several the several tasks Colleagues are very supportive Facilities are good and well equipped.

The administration showing the good will, but lacks the vision for the future in my field due to what I call selective ignorance.
