Decent Experience, but Not a Long-Term Opportunity
Mar 17, 2023 - Referral Coordinator in Dallas-Fort WorthRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This is a great place to get your foot in the door of the legal field. Work here a few months and start applying to other law firms. The work is interesting and mentally stimulating, especially if you are interested in law. You can learn so much and have lots of interesting stories just from reading the case files. Work/life balance is decent. They will never insist that you work overtime, but the opportunity occasionally arises.
Cons
The pay is insulting. I got a raise of 5%, but it came with 40% more work, and I had to juggle the duties of three different departments. This is a young person's game and not sustainable for someone like me with kids or mortgages. The superiors love to micromanage. Changing call center agents' status, without asking, while the agent is in the middle of completing a previous caller's request is common. They make you feel like you're just a number with the daily quotas they set for you, especially if you coordinate referrals. They will make you spend hours trying to find a lawyer to take a trash case in the middle of nowhere, and they will still tell you you're not doing enough. They care far more about the quantity than the quality.

Pros
Work from home since covid.
Cons
The pay is insulting and the directors seem to run off of negativity. No response to any positive emails and are never there when you ask for assistance but will spend all day emailing you if it’s something wrong. Jump to conclusions and when you show evidence they were wrong no maturity to apologize or admit a mistake was made. Once you are on their bad side start looking for another job because they will micromanage you to push you out. Contract states your day ends at 5 but you are pushed to work until 6pm most days because of holding calls then if you do leave at 5pm it will be held against you.

Honestly, the only pro is the ability to work from home!
Cons
Management is awful, unresponsive, and unhelpful! I am hopeful that with the recent call center changes that maybe just maybe that will change. The pay is terrible for what you're required to do. The turnover rate is ridiculous!

The Managers and Leads are all very helpful regardless of how busy they are. Flexibility. Upper Management is friendlier than you'd expect. Hour lunch, work from home job.
Cons
Low pay, a lot of calls some days but it makes the day go by fast.
