    Pros

"Cool" accounting firm - if that makes sense

Big time reputation in alternative investments with a small firm feel. Great training to start.

Upper management is real down to earth and approachable.

    Cons

Morale could have been handled better.

Did not want to treat firm like a Big 4, which is fine, however, would have been better to get rewarded for out performing peers than getting thrown into a general pool. People are too nice during reviews and marginal performers get as good treatment as top performers.

    Advice to Management

Should not have lied about the impending sale to KPMG.

Should try to retain talent better. Having a policy about no counter offers will only make people walk out the door quicker.

    Pros

Firm really tried to develop staff as professionals through training and seminars. They had a really solid training program.

    Cons

Sold out to the man. Total boys club. Way too many corporate responsibilities and obligations without consideration of the client service workload.

I worked at Rothstein Kass full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company was in Beverly Hills

    Cons

I actually started in '06 and the job barely lasted until '07. It's a good thing the company got bought out. That's about all I have to say about this place. Well, I have more to say but I'm sure the new company is on to bigger and better things.

I worked at Rothstein Kass full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work there were the teams from across locations coming to the aid of offices who needed a project to get done.

    Cons

I wish management could've been more transparent when it came down to performance review and critical feedback.

    Pros

Great work-life balance during off season, decent company culture, fun people to work with, challenging job, overtime pay, PTO

    Cons

Management played favorites, long workweeks during busy season, upper level employees reluctant to let go of clients

    Advice to Management

Don't play favorites - that's why you lose some of your best employees. Be honest with them about what is going on with the company.
