I worked at Round Rock Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The BEST job experience EVER! Sorry I ever left! Common sense was the daily mindset at this campus. Micro-managing just didn't exist!

    Cons

Not one CON comes to mind!

    Advice to Management

Can you please switch out with SDMC? :-)

I have been working at Round Rock Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Co-workers are awesome
Pay is pretty fair, but could be better
Free Ice Cream paydays (if your an ice cream person)
Overtime plentiful (due to shortage, be prepared to work hard)
Ability to learn and preform different job duties

    Cons

No room for advancement unless you go back to school
    EVERYONE IS OVER WORKED!!!!!!!!
    Supervisor running too many departments
Supervisor volunteering employees to do other job duties for other departments
Never knowing true role, and job duties
    Not enough staff
Benefits aren't the best, but there's plenty to choose from
    No patient transports

    Advice to Management

Get help and get it fast!! Spend more time listening to your employees and less time worrying about numbers. Reward employees more often.

I worked at Round Rock Medical Center (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to work. Excellent staff and management.

    Cons

Like any large company it can be difficult to make changes even if it is for the better. Same with this hospital.

I have been working at Round Rock Medical Center (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I do not have a ton of pros to describe this job at this time, pretty hospital, convenient to where I live

    Cons

Poorly managed, poor raises, poor wages, hard to get time off, many Doctor are unfriendly and that is it at this time

I worked at Round Rock Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Good atmosphere, people were really nice. Good place to work because people are really nice there and you can see the outcome of your caring for others.

    Cons

Tiring hours sometimes. There really aren't many cons. It's a medical center so generally it's a pretty good place to work so I can't really think of any.

    Advice to Management

None. I didn't really think that management was too bad. I was just volunteering so I didn't really need much management since I wasn't getting paid anyways.

I have been working at Round Rock Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staff are friendly and work together well, at least in my unit. Management is reasonable and listens to opinions from staff. I feel recognized for my hard work.

    Cons

The biggest con is the low pay. This is an Austin-wide issue, the cost of living is rising faster than the income.
The electronic charting system is pathetic.

I worked at Round Rock Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Pays good. Nice people that work there.

    Cons

being a nurses aid they gave you a lot of patients with a little bit of help from the supporting staff like nurses or physical therapist.

    Advice to Management

just a thought but maybe it should be led by a true team leader that emphasizes on team. Most of the time I didn't even know the persons name that I was working with. So that tells you something right there.

I worked at Round Rock Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Great staff. Everyone cares, everyone works hard. Great community, everyone gets to know each other. HCA is a great company and so is St. Davids.

    Cons

Seton pays a little more it seems like. But St. Davids has so many extra perks and benefits.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I have been working at Round Rock Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of support and learning opportunities. The Director here really pushes you to be the best of the best. The doctors are pleasant to work with. You can hear and see teamwork everywhere. Everyone is always willing to help out.

    Cons

Austin has the lowest pay for nurses.
6:1 ratio patients are sometimes a struggle especially when you start with 6 at the beginning of the shift.
