I worked at RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers were the best part of the job
    Bi-weekly paychecks
    Company celebrations
    Health benefits

    Cons

I worked at RoundPoint in the escrow department for 2 yrs. During that time there were a lot of changes; however most of these changes were for the worse. Management is lacking in experience as well as empathy for employees. They are very cliquish, and one in particular walks past all of the specialists as if they do not exist. He speaks to everyone including supervisors as if they are idiots and he shows no respect. There is absolutely no room for growth or promotion no matter how hard you work and show your value. This department is known for blocking its employees from transferring to other departments. Raises are minimal and they continue to make it hard for specialists to want to work there. Pretty much all of the experienced specialists have moved on to other companies where they can be appreciated and paid fairly. It’s not uncommon for you to know more than your supervisor. Serveral supervisors have been hired and quit almost immediately; other specialists have been let go within the first 90 days simply because management did not like them (nothing to do with work product). The overall company has a good culture but it does not translate to escrow. Overall I would recommend that you only take a position in the escrow department if you are extremely desperate for work; otherwise keep looking !!

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees, hold yourself accountable for your mistakes and promote from within. If you treat your employees with respect and actually cared about them; there would be nothing that they wouldn’t do for you. Listen to the employee surveys and become more flexible.

    Pros

Generous discretionary benefit package. You have immediate access to your pto.

    Cons

Run!!! Don’t believe the reviews on Glassdoor for this company. No one here is happy at all. You can feel it when you walk in the door after the first week. The put on a fake front during the interview stages. They are trying to boost customer ratings on social media and are incentivizing positive reviews. The also will send out multiple emails about ranking them the “best company in ——— or best place to —-” The schedule changes multiple times a day and you will have mandatory overtime added with no notice. The hours are tough. Your performance is forced ranked into a monthly scorecard that goes out on a monthly basis. You are able to earn more money by selling additional services and soliciting customer reviews but they don’t tell you that in training.

    Advice to Management

Warn candidates during the interview process that the schedule changes many times a day and about mandatory overtime. It is hard to make plans and have a life with an ever changing schedule.

    Pros

Good people working there. Culture and community is great.

    Cons

    Where do I start...

    - Upper management is an absolute joke. Company has no real direction on where they want to go.
-Managers do not listen to your needs.
    - When hired, was told one thing for compensation. After being hired months later they immediately changed pay structure knowing this was going to change before hiring.
-Products you are selling are outdated and not competitive with current market.
-Expectations for sales are irrational and unreachable
-Managers in positions they do not need to be in.
-Implementing mandatory overtime on those in sales but they’re are no sales to make because upper management is upset numbers are not being hit.
-setting unrealistic sales goals and writing those up who do not hit them. Also not providing the tools/products to help hit these unrealistic goals.
-Systems being used for LO duties are outdated

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the people who don’t belong in the positions they are currently in. RoundPoint has good employees there. When your people are telling you changes need to be made, listen to them and their needs so the correct changes can be made and everyone can be successful.

    Pros

the company itself is great , lots of social events and good benefits

    Cons

This is a lot, but please be aware that all LOs received a $20k pay cut in June and the comp plan in completely unrealistic. This department will surely shut down soon. They do not buy leads and have exhausted their own portfolio you will call the same lead dozens of times. If you are currently employed in the retention department and are not seeking other employment you will regret it.

    Advice to Management

stop blaming the LOs for the companies poor choices. They're human and work hard for you.
