    Advice to Management

RPMS has been an eventful ride. As with any company,
there are ups and downs, but for the most part,
it has been a great ride! Upper Management understands our
industry can be stressful at times, so they do their best to keep
the momentum positive and upbeat. The Employee Engagement Team is
phenomenal, they are always planning events! Overall, it is a great
company if you are looking to work in the mortgage industry.

    Pros

RoundPoint's management really focuses on making the organization as a whole a great place to work, creating interest groups and volunteer opportunities and hosting company-wide social events.

RoundPoint is a great place for entry-level employees to gain knowledge and skills to be successful in the financial industry.

RoundPoint also offers a great work-life balance for its salaried employees

    Cons

RoundPoint fails to focus on department-wide culture, where leaders fail to actually lead their team members, marginalizing their worth through lack of communication, training, and promotional opportunities. They fail to hold leaders accountable for treating their employees poorly, instead promoting ones that are known to belittle and bully their employees because their operational outcomes are positive for the business.

RoundPoint fails to also competitively pay their employees. There is not a tiered pay scale where the employees know their salary range and cap. While their health insurance benefits are great, the other benefits offered, such a maternity leave or paid time off and sick leave, are not competitive for similar positions in their same industry. With most of their business located in Charlotte, what they offer their employees in the Charlotte financial market is not competitive. Performance raises are minimal, where the raises offered are barely enough to cover a cost of living increase. Many employees do not stay here past two years.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on hosting happy hours and focus more on employee retention. Invest in your human capital by recognizing why your top talent are leaving the business and make strides to improve in those areas. There are too many surveys issued to employees that repetitively tell you why your employees are leaving and the results are ignored or minimized.

I worked at RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing full-time

    Pros

Good opportunity for recent graduates in the call center
    Benefits are decent
They try to engage all employees

    Cons

Extremely difficult to make change as obvious as it is
Lots of promises have fallen through over time
Constant plans and commitments don't result in much
Don't believe anything until you start seeing it happen

    Advice to Management

Just way too much red tape to get any action taken. It takes constant failures before we take action

    Pros

It's a smaller company that has grown consistently and has raised its profile within the industry. Most of Management is very accessible and seem open to communication with other departments. Benefits are good and the emphasis on employee engagement is recognized by employees.

    Cons

Because it is growing, there sometimes seems to be a high rate of turnover within certain departments - depending on how the company seems to be doing. Also - not greater changes within the company aren't always communicated to the employees until they are happening - it seems.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. But being more communicative about the ongoing changes could help everyone see the direction in which the company is headed.

I worked at RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

RoundPoint isn't a bad place to "work".
The perks are simply having employment and the somewhat central location; Oh! and every month you get Free Cupcakes ( Birthday's). Thats about it company wise. You do however make some pretty cool friends as co-workers.

    Cons

There is no cafeteria as previously mentioned, and the items in the vending area are definitely taxed at price. They have occasional food trucks that come, but it will be the same ones, all the time. Either Boone's BBQ or AllStar Cafe. The Employees are great! SOME of the Manager's are great, while others not so much. I say that because there are a lot of "Favorites" and if you aren't in with the "cool kids", you kind of don't matter. They continue to say that they are growing and still trying to make justifiable changes, but I disagree. This is why so many people are leaving and seeking employment elsewhere. Let's just say you get a job here... and your really good at your job, no matter how unhappy you are in your department, if you try to leave, the department manager will not let you leave or sign off on your transfer. So you are literally stuck.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to suggestions and constructive criticism from those who really KNOW the industry, especially management.
