I have been working at Rovia full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Welcoming, Challenging, Synergistic, Thought Invoking and easy to hit the ground running

    Cons

Really not any that I've observed.

    Advice to Management

Applications applying to Training Platforms could be more applicable to trainees.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Rovia full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of good, like-minded folks, fun industry, lots of growth

    Cons

Tended to do things in a rush to make sales force happy, then had to mop up later. Company-wide communication between departments was a challenge and contributed to lots of politics/egos. Driven by sales focus instead of a balanced approach between business-minded and sales-minded. And most critical: the 3 Cons listed were blatantly obvious to everyone, including non-management staff which was detrimental to... morale and culture.

I worked at Rovia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

ability to learn lots of new things fast-paced and exciting compensation benefits travel

    Cons

lack of teamwork, lots of secrecy constant crisis incompetent management unprofessional culture (MLM background, no corporate structure)

    Advice to Management

Please figure out what the brand stands for. There is too much confusion and no coordination between efforts. Everyday is more about putting out fires instead of being innovative and breaking records

    I worked at Rovia

    Pros

    Reasonable pay, somewhat flexible hours

    Cons

Management and employees with tenure do not understand travel, especially product development. You say the sky is blue they will insist it’s yellow and gossip about you being wrong until you resign. It is such a toxic environment you can feel it in the air and there are no direct discussions about performance or needs, just talking behind backs. It’s very cliquish and impossible to fit in. If you know what you are... doing in travel, don’t waste your time.

I worked at Rovia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Anyone with travel industry knowledge in the business for at least 20 years has clue not only on the business at hand but more importantly how to respect and treat one another.

    Cons

Sorry. Anyone that is over the age of 40 doesn't stand a chance. They are cut throat, throw you under the bus because most likely feel threatened by your knowledge, even though you have genuinely and respectfully tried to work with them - they are not interested in you, your experience or your good nature attitude. It's all about them. And this is hospitality?!

    Advice to Management

Start with leadership that knows how to Lead. Not people with mood disorders. When employees go to Human Resources about the same leader with similar inappropriate, unprofessional behavior episodes, you ignore and release them and not the poor Leader. Makes no sense. Toxic environment which starts on top and went down hill when the current CEO came on board. It goes downhill and what WorldVentures and Rovia... perceived themselves to be is quite the opposite which diminishes all the good they profess. Such a sad environment which doesn't have to be that way.

I have been working at Rovia full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Yes the company has gone through some turbulence Yes we've gone through tough times Anybody read Steve Jobs ? Read how BILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES ARE BORN? You go through growing pains, you go through restructures, until you find the right TALENT & PEOPLE. Pros - huge career growth opportunities - generous packages - be a part of something that makes a difference to peoples lives

    Cons

    - expect to work hard - dont expect smooth seas for now (smooth seas never made skilled sailors)

    Advice to Management

Keep going, hold leadership accountable, not so much focus on plans but more on execution

    I worked at Rovia full-time

    Pros

Travel industry perks, but they're few and far between.

    Cons

Where do I start? -Clueless branch manager who is YesMan to corporate brass and dumps CEO-requested trips on call center folks who already are overburdened with sales goals. Pay not commensurate with workload. Expect to work holidays, with management talking up the finer aspects of working from home on Christmas Day. Creepy rah-rah company meetings streamed live on company website where the CEO and Big Cheese say... nothing of substance and smile as they point fingers and fire perfectly capable employees for suspect reasons. DreamTrips membership skates right up to the scam category - wouldn't waste a dime on membership in it, and members are often upset that they can't manipulate the website to book trips. Don't expect to see any commission on non-Dreamtrip travel that you book, as the parent company takes it all but doesn't see fit to redistribute any of it as a year-end bonus. Management is untrustworthy and unapproachable with sub-par communication skills. If you ask questions about the financial health of the company or its parent company, it will come back to bite you in the posterior. Zero career growth if you get stuck on the sales team, only higher sales goals. P.S. the good health insurance benefits don't compensate for the underpaid, gossipy, Big Brother work atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees monetary incentives, not three-day stays at an out-of-town hotel. These people are barely putting dinner on the table for their families with what you pay them, so to expect them to cough up travel funds to get to said Reward Hotel Stay is both cruel and insensitive. Be upfront and honest about the growth and direction of the company, give promotions, and give raises!
