Your typical F2P Developer
Apr 3, 2017 - Artist in Stockholm, StockholmRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Super nice, open co-workers - Good pay and Benefits - Monthly Massage - Approachable management - Willingness to discuss issues - Transparency - Ability to work from home as needed - Flexible - Work Life Balance
Cons
- Everyone who worked to develop Angry Birds 2 has left. None of that talent exists there anymore. - Game development is driven almost entirely by analytics leaving no room for creativity and the unexpected. - 50% of my work week was spent in meetings rather than doing my job. - Company "culture" is more important to management than hiring talented people and developing FUN games - They are lacking in any kind of technical infrastructure since they don't have a dedicated IT person. - HR is also a mess. - International hires get little help on integration into society. They don't offer Swedish language courses or even general information as an expat moving to Sweden. - Lots of inexperienced co-workers straight out of school with no real experience. Some of which end up in leadership roles. - Seemingly yearly layoffs in Finland which sometimes effect promised yearly bonus in Sweden. - No support for further education, growth or skill development as an artist. - Strict "secondary work/income" policy. ANY secondary work or income needs approval and a signed contract with upper management. While I was there, a Lead Programmer was fired for doing VR in his off time. - Employees skills and ambition is under valued.

Pros
Good benefits in health care, recreational, nice environment. Healthy work life balance most of the time, overtime is compensated.
Cons
Occasionally problems with communication, hard to pitch new IPs as Rovio is very focused on its few successful IPs.

Good benefits, low salary, constantly changing
Oct 16, 2013 - QA Lead in EspooRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good benefits (phone, home internet, sports and culture money, subsidised lunch vouchers, free stuff).
Cons
Terrible management, poor internal communication, internal processes slow to react to company growth or changes.

Good life and work balance ! Independence to learn and grow
Sep 16, 2019 - Manager in EspooRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Very good work/ life balance and supportive colleagues. - Company supports your learning needs and attending conferences is encouraged. - Good benefits. - Nice location.
Cons
- Not really a con, but you need to master many areas since Rovio has small talented teams. So the learning curve can be steep at first (depending on your role). - Small teams also mean that sometimes work can get a bit stressful.

Nice people and good benefits
Jun 15, 2020 - Concept Artist in EspooRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people for the most part are super nice. The benefits package is good. The work / life balance is good. The tools provided are very good.
Cons
The flatness of the management structure sometimes draws out the decision making process way too long. The company likes to play it safe with the projects so they aren't always the most interesting. Not maybe the best place for someone super ambitious.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Never a dull day, future is bright yet uncertain
Jan 22, 2015 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The industry is interesting and fast-changing, so there's always something new to learn. Working hours can be flexible and remote work is possible. Good company benefits (home internet connection, company phone, in-house gym etc).
Cons
Changes are not always communicated and explained thoroughly.

Good benefits and trustable leadership.

Deep organisation with multiple levels of decision making - not always empowering right individuals and constraining growth.
