Your typical F2P Developer
Apr 3, 2017 - Artist in Stockholm, StockholmRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Super nice, open co-workers - Good pay and Benefits - Monthly Massage - Approachable management - Willingness to discuss issues - Transparency - Ability to work from home as needed - Flexible - Work Life Balance
Cons
- Everyone who worked to develop Angry Birds 2 has left. None of that talent exists there anymore. - Game development is driven almost entirely by analytics leaving no room for creativity and the unexpected. - 50% of my work week was spent in meetings rather than doing my job. - Company "culture" is more important to management than hiring talented people and developing FUN games - They are lacking in any kind of technical infrastructure since they don't have a dedicated IT person. - HR is also a mess. - International hires get little help on integration into society. They don't offer Swedish language courses or even general information as an expat moving to Sweden. - Lots of inexperienced co-workers straight out of school with no real experience. Some of which end up in leadership roles. - Seemingly yearly layoffs in Finland which sometimes effect promised yearly bonus in Sweden. - No support for further education, growth or skill development as an artist. - Strict "secondary work/income" policy. ANY secondary work or income needs approval and a signed contract with upper management. While I was there, a Lead Programmer was fired for doing VR in his off time. - Employees skills and ambition is under valued.

Pros
Excellent work life balance. Paid OT. OK bonus scheme. Relaxed work environment. International, English speaking work place.
Cons
Head office is in Finland, which is expensive, ugly, depressing, unfriendly and an extremely tedious place to live. Average pay for the location. Bloated corporate structure, slow to react to market demands. Obsessed by milking Angry Birds to death, perhaps realising too late that they need to diversify. Management want an edgy product, but won't actually allow staff the the freedom to creative without stifling the results.

Great colleagues, questionable leadership
Apr 15, 2022 - Senior Product Manager in EspooRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
+ Amazing colleagues + Good work/life balance + Great to learn and work with the latest trends/tech in the industry + Remote working helps
Cons
- Growth opportunities can be limited, esp. if you are a key contributor - Blatant nepotism and toxic politics. Some key C level personnel don't have the acumen to lead from those roles. - Pay is definitely lower than competition and its really hard to grow within the organisation - Games are no longer innovative and plain turn-key projects

Software Engineer

Dynamic environment and good work colleagues. Good balance work/life
Cons
Management has totally no idea what they are doing in many key areas. Many of them do not know how to manage or even do not care about it. It causes a lot of frustration having a manager who is not ready to be manager and doesnt want to be a manager.

Generally a decent place to work

- good work life balance - bonus structures distribute successes well
Cons
- a little directionless - strong hierarchy base
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
- Great benefits. - Wonderful, creative, and polite coworkers. - Healthy work/life balance and very laid back with scheduling as long as you get your hours in. - Fun job working in a creative environment. - Low-pressure art reviews with your supervisor, unlike other studios where you pitch to a bunch of talking suits. - Small studio where you will meet and befriend everyone in the office.
Cons
- Company has an itchy trigger finger when it comes to layoffs. - Their only production is the Angry Birds Movie so there is no upward mobility or long-term prospects within the company. - Non-union studio.

Nice people and good benefits
Jun 15, 2020 - Concept Artist in EspooRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people for the most part are super nice. The benefits package is good. The work / life balance is good. The tools provided are very good.
Cons
The flatness of the management structure sometimes draws out the decision making process way too long. The company likes to play it safe with the projects so they aren't always the most interesting. Not maybe the best place for someone super ambitious.
- Former Employee, more than 8 years★★★★★
Pros
Great work life balance Great culture of respect, trust and comradery Supportive and friendly environment Ever-evolving company Lots of programs for self improvement, workshops and trainings offerings. Versatile options for career development vertically and horizontally if one is ambitious and loves challenges
Cons
Supervisors could benefit from more trainings into empowering their teams and on how to lead highly effective teams.
