I have been working at Royal Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Focus on team member engagement is great. Recently there has been a push to increase wages to make us a premier employer, and to attract the best talent. Lots of training and developmental opportunities. Great work life balance for most areas. Very positive, open environment. Open door policy for all leaders. Love the communication thru quarterly organization wide meetings, and thru portal (companies main page for info and updates). Executives are dedicated to excellence and it is reflected in work in each department. A really great place to work

    Cons

Have been running lean in many areas and can be draining for team members. But In the process of making changes to automate more processes.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your people. Continue to be flexible with structure to create opportunities for top performers.

    Pros

Pay is decent for Eau Claire area, people I work with are nice

    Cons

Members within Chippewa Valley are rudest I've dealt with nationwide, management doesn't listen to ideas or tries making your ideas their own

    Advice to Management

I worked at Royal Credit Union part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Co-workers, Bosses, Community Involvement, caring and fun environment.
Feels like a home a way from home!

    Cons

Things such as; health benifits, dental, annual bonus, commissions were all depleated in a year...I believe in 2014.
There was supposed to be other incentives for employees initiated however no follow through in my eyes. At least not to the degree expected. A lot of good people were lost (most likely some not so good).
Overall the Pro's out way the Cons by far...as long as you don't need to be the bread winner in the family.

    Advice to Management

    None.

I have been working at Royal Credit Union full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you have worked there a long time, you do have benefits built up.
    My coworkers are awesome.

    Cons

Many benefits were removed when we got a new CEO (Rudy)
Company is way more interested in the giving the appearance of caring than actually doing so
Mistakes are not allowed, but in training they say to take risks and learn from your mistakes. Two opposite goals.
Introduced SMART goals for performance review, and now a team members performance of their actual day to day duties only count towards 10% of their reviews. When I first started working here under a different CEO, we were paid well. Now all the new CEO wants for us is average pay. Average pay but extraordinary work. If you are salaried be prepared to work all the time. There are no personal boundaries anymore.

    Advice to Management

My advice to Management is to quit trying to become nationally famous and get back to our roots. Serving the community. Appearance is everything to this CEO. He wants the best of the best people working there, but isn't willing to pay them anything but average. According to the CEO we haven't earned anything more yet, which astounds me. I know many people who have given everything to this company, and so have I. I am worth more than average pay. I would also recommend putting a little less emphasis on the youth in your staff. Long terms are just as valuable if not more. A lot of long term team members have been fired since the new CEO. Always on edge about who will be next.
This CEO has even said to us in a meeting that he makes a lot of money. Good for him. And goodness gracious this place has been adding a lot of new jobs with strange job titles that no one can understand. High paying jobs. So I guess we get the average salaries to afford paying the higher ups even more.

I have been working at Royal Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits and a caring co-workers. I have met some really wonderful people in my time at RCU.

    Cons

Can be hard to 'move up' depending on where you start. Their career path program is almost non-existent in my department, although I know some supervisors do take time to help their staff move create goals and move toward them.
