I have been working at Royal Mail part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good employer, good hours, good pay for what you do, Management listen to concerns and are helpful and fair. Keeps you fit, lovely balance of working with team in the morning sorting post and then being out and about with general public.

    Cons

Lots of moaning about the job isn't what it used to be. Not able to plan life as a reserve, only get to find out days off 1 week in advance. 24 hr contract is there but expected to work 2-3 hrs overtime per day.

    Advice to Management

Create a team culture. Rather than round holders and reserves. Performance manage staff so excellent work is rewarded rather than rewarding time served.

    Pros

Great company that has great benefits and looks after its employees. Great to be part of one of the biggest company transformations in the country.

    Cons

Change is slow, there's a lot of bureaucracy and it can take an age to get things signed off. Not the place to work if you enjoy moving at fast pace.
