    Average pay, Good exposure to cancer trials

    Cons

    Less pay than other research centers, cold weather.

    Pros

    Great mission, some outstanding people to work with

    Cons

    State mentality some people stay beyond the time they should leave. Management runs it anything than like a business.

    Advice to Management

    Get a C-suite of people that know what they are doing. Constantly making decisions that hurt RPCI.

    Pros

    Very rewarding to work for an enterprise devoted to curing cancer.

    Cons

    Management at times confused with strategy and how to make it work.

    Advice to Management

    Centralize your planning and communicate status - good and bad - to your staff; it will help them feel like they're part of the solution.

    Pros

    Coworkers are very friendly.
    Diversity, flexibility of work schedule, good pension plan, and a long vacation.

    Cons

    Brutal winter!!! It is very cold (sometimes colder than Alaska), and it is a lot lot lot lot of snow. Also, the winter is very very very very very long.

    Advice to Management

    If you like the winter season, this place is good enough.

    Pros

    There are some notably strong clusters of researchers.

    Cons

    There are various colorful figures obsessed with "empire building" and rapid commercialization of products. Rapid commercialization can lead to pressure to move ahead with projects based upon flimsy (or altered) preliminary data. Research what happened to PersonaDX and its Chief Scientific Officer, and one will understand the culture there.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on patient care as your primary mission. Stop buying into "get rich quick" biomarker schemes.

    Pros

    There are some areas that have high functioning teams with great culture

    Cons

    There are other areas, including HR and upper level management, that have toxic culture that affects the entire organization.

    Advice to Management

    Study the areas that are performing well and replicate. Do not expect HR to be able to lead culture change until their internal cultural issues are fixed. Consider hiring an outside consultant to lead cultural change.
