I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations for less than a year

    Pros

The internship program at Rubenstein Public Relations is not made to cater to employees at Rubenstein PR who need extra free help. Instead, it is directed towards teaching those with no or little background in public relations, everything that they need to know about the PR industry. The mentors truly care that their interns are learning everything that they can about the field with each task they give them. As an intern...

    Cons

As an intern, I often did not have tasks prepared and given to me. Instead, I had to ask associates if they needed any help, and if they didn't need anything at the moment, I had nothing else to do.

    Advice to Management

I feel that I gained a lot of knowledge on important PR tasks and learned generally how PR firms work and handle the goals and conclusions of the publicity for their clients. However, I feel that there is a lot more that I could've learned about meeting with the client, deciding what media outlets to publicize them through, and getting them involved with these outlets. My experience could have been improved if I was able...

    Pros

There are no pros to this internship.

    Cons

No structure, No HR Department, Rude Staff, Not a learning environment. The president even prances around the office being distracting until he decides it's time to do work and he starts to yell at the legitimate staff. There is no pay for the internship either so not only are you not learning, but you're demotivated to do any work in the hostile environment because you're there without pay. They exploit their interns,...

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations for less than a year

    Pros

Ability to learn different sectors of PR by working with different supervisors and obtaining diverse work duties

    Cons

CEO is crazy, loud, intimidating and unethical. He runs the firm by manipulation and essentially, bullying. Work environment was OK for one summer, but I wouldn't be able to handle that toxic environment year round.

    Advice to Management

    Replace CEO

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations

    Pros

**Keep in mind that this is a review for an internship position** Despite some negative reviews here (mostly reviews for full-time jobs), I had a worthwhile experience interning at the company. As an intern, you're always busy, constantly helping out with different tasks. You don't just sit around and try to kill your time without anything to do like at some other internships. You get to help with writing up the weekly/monthly...
