I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Beautiful office with great snacks.

    Cons

I witnessed Richard Rubenstein's erratic and unprofessional behavior very early on into working at RPR, but I naively believed that because I worked directly under a wonderful SVP, that I was in the clear of his tantrums and abuse. I was wrong. A little over a month into working at RPR I was personally attacked at my cubicle by Richard, for picking up a call from a client at my desk. His unspeakable outburst was...

RR NEEDS HELP! Seriously, what kind of childhood could he have had to turn out to be the monster that he has?

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is the monetary compensation. Other than that, there is none.

    Cons

If I could give this review 0 stars, I would. The environment is toxic so if you enjoy being unhappy - this place is the right fit for you! This is not a bitter former employee writing this... I left and sought out a better work environment because this place made me go back to therapy - it was THAT BAD. Save yourself some trouble and work at a more prestigious PR firm...

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some good employees who deserve better. Lots of autonomy - until Richard decides to think about your account. Structure at the time provided an assistant to Supervisor level which is unique.

    Cons

Absolutely insane work environment. It's not that the work was too demanding or accounts were overwhelming, it's that the founder's practices and leadership style is so antiquated and demoralizing it's impossible to stay focused. He would berate employees on a daily basis, ridicule your work, humiliate you in front of your colleagues, knock you down a peg whenever he felt you...

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations for less than a year

    Pros

Ability to learn different sectors of PR by working with different supervisors and obtaining diverse work duties

    Cons

CEO is crazy, loud, intimidating and unethical. He runs the firm by manipulation and essentially, bullying. Work environment was OK for one summer, but I wouldn't be able to handle that toxic environment year round.

    Advice to Management

    Replace CEO

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nothing at all. A lot of cons and no pros

    Cons

It is sad to see all of the fake reviews that are generated on RPR’s glassdoor. My time at RPR started out as promising. It seemed as if I would have the opportunity to grow and move up to a senior position. However, after the third month of being with the company I began to witness the barbaric behaviors of the president and his loyal followers who have been with the company for 5+ years. To everyone who is thinking...

    Advice to Management

The president needs to open his eyes. His entry level staff are the most valuable. Teach upper management how to manage them better and stop blaming them. It's not their fault it's the manager. Let them have the freedom to change a few things. The market place is changing and RPR needs to change.

I worked at Rubenstein Public Relations

    Pros

I love the incredible amount of resources and talent available to help one be successful here. Here are the things that really stand out about this place vs other agency's. Pay is very competitive. Location and office is great. Amazing team. Great benefits and NYSC membership. Private office for senior account execs. I love being around people who are genuinely excited and passionate about the work...

    Cons

It's definitely an extremely fast-paced work environment, and you need to play your best at any given time. There is no room for just chilling and kicking it.
