I have been working at Ruby Tuesday full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

50% off food on days you work.

    Cons

Been working there for 2 years without a raise or a performance review, and other people have been hired recently who are starting out making at least a dollar more an hour than me. But I'm told I can't get a raise and that people are being hired at a higher wage now. Be aware of this practice that Ruby Tuesday has. Also, managers are quitting and finding other jobs outside of Ruby Tuesday. That doesn't speak very well for Ruby Tuesday as a company when they cannot keep their managers. And the ones they have have no clue how to manage people. Ruby Tuesday's no smoking policy is completely ignored by management.

    Advice to Management

Stop hurting the ones who are keeping you in business, especially the ones who have been there more than a year and make less per hour than those who have been there a few months. If you're going to make a policy then make sure your general managers are following said policy.

    Pros

Will hire anyone. Food is meh.

    Cons

Cheapskate company giving their money away to the customers in comps. Working here eats your soul.

    Advice to Management

Corporate office couldn't care less about moving you around.

I have been working at Ruby Tuesday full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can make decent tips and the food is good. There is nothing else good about the store I work at.

    Cons

The management is worthless. This company has been going downhill for some time. The amount of business is nothing like it used to be. They overstaff FOH. Management is unfair and plays favorites. Hourly wages are low.

    Advice to Management

Clean out lower management including DMs. Maybe there's still a chance to save what good you do have left and make it even better. Listen to your cooks, servers, hosts, and bartenders more. This place has drained my soul.

    Pros

Willing to work with your schedule. Very flexible. 4-day training program.

    Cons

Too many servers on at once--hard to make tips.

    Advice to Management

Please concentrate on management don't play buddy-buddy with the employees or give special treatment.

I worked at Ruby Tuesday part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gave a decent employee discount, 35%. 50% on shift.
Tried hard to stay fresh with their targeted audience.
    Decent shifts.

    Cons

Besides the low pay and lack of break time in a 6 hour shift...Most immature and unprofessional workplace I've ever experienced.
Management was horrible. They played favorites and would degrade you in front of guests if you weren't a favorite.
There was so much drama between staff, even to go as far as yelling and fighting across the restaurant at each other (in front of guests). So much putting each other down to look better.
There was no breaks, even if you decided to work a double shift.
The pay is not worth any of the stuff you have to put up with.
Some customers make the job hard enough but to have an entire workplace against each other?
Not to mention how disgusting the restaurant was constantly. Food left between seats and under tables for days. Mouse traps in every corner and they were definitely being used frequently.

I would never recommend anyone to work for this company in any capacity.

    Advice to Management

Really pay attention to who you hire and how your restaurants are being run.

    Pros

The food discount isnt even worth it.

    Cons

    Being paid under minimum wage

    Advice to Management

Dont let servers do too much if they're only making $20 for a 5 hr shift

I worked at Ruby Tuesday full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They offer decent benefits, but they really aren't worth the company culture that continues to shoot itself in the foot via coupons, overly-frequent menu changes, and bad hiring practices.

    Cons

They have changed their concept 2 times every year since 2008. The identity crisis alienates customers so when sales and guest counts are low, they will blame front line employees and management.

    Advice to Management

Upper level management could do well to find a concept and stick to it for more than 6 months. Customer alienation is not the way.
