I worked at Ruby Tuesday part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I had good management and a nice atmosphere to work in.

    Cons

I hardly made more than gas money to get to work as a host.

    Advice to Management

As a chain, they have certain speels to recite to guests. As a guest myself in these chains, it's unnecessary and fake. Let's allow improvisation!

I worked at Ruby Tuesday part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of my coworkers were pretty cool. There is a lot of downtime where you don't have much to do so you get time to socialize with other employees.

    Cons

Management is really strict, servers can be very picky. Sometimes there is a large rush and you don't even have time to go to the bathroom for a while.

    Advice to Management

Chill out a little bit. Give us free food everyone now and then if there is a mess up in the kitchen. Don't expect so much out of us.

I have been working at Ruby Tuesday part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very laid back work environment, we specify teamwork so things run smoothly. The menu, although extensive, is very easy to learn! You just have to understand all the micro-transactions we do sometimes. I love my coworkers.

    Cons

No auto-gratuity on large parties, so the party might not tip at all and leave you feeling super frustrated. Coupons, coupons, COUPONS. Sometimes undesirable shifts, especially when new people are hired. You'd think the people who've been there for years would have the better shifts?

I worked at Ruby Tuesday full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great atmosphere, good managers. Some decent regulars, flexible schedules, they promote from within the company

    Cons

Bad tippers, rude customers, to many extra things to do for 2.13 per hour.

    Advice to Management

Stop making changes and the salad bar should come with everything!!

I worked at Ruby Tuesday (More than a year)

    Pros

I had a great time and all of the people were nice. The managers were helpful. Moved up to bartender when I asked.

    Cons

Management was full of themselves. Tips were minimal. Tests were easy and pointless.

    Advice to Management

Do not steal tips from your servers. Let your staff be flexible with schedules since this job is not something they will stick with forever.

    Pros

Great bosses. Great systems. Team attitude varies from city to city. Good benefits. Corporate leaders really care. The brand is trying to stay relevant but fans are losing their identity.

    Cons

Long hours. Menu item/execution too complex

    Advice to Management

Simplify, streamline, study, stay the course.

I have been working at Ruby Tuesday part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay
    Ok shifts and good hours
Less busy than some other restaurants

    Cons

    Management plays favorites
    Not a very professional company
New regulations are making everyone's job hardeharder in the restaurants

    Advice to Management

Be more strict with your rules and expectations. Punish ALL employees for breaking them. Require ALL employees to follow the rules and live up to expectations.

I worked at Ruby Tuesday full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company itself is great to work for, the company promotes within and really makes their staff feel heard.

    Cons

There are always bad eggs, and in my case the company listened to those who had been with the company longer, instead of standing up for their employee that was being wronged.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your staff.
