I have been working at Ruckus Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome foundational culture from the long time folks who remember what it is to run a startup and continue at the sprinter pace even after becoming a $1b company. Some really great people who are dedicated and believe in the product/brand. Not a single pretentious or self-absorbed person in the mix. Everyone earns what they get.

    Cons

Recent acquisition changing the culture from run and gun to process and rules. Long period of uncertainty for employees during multiple back to back acquisitions creates stress and anxiety. Not as much transparency or inclusion around decision making process related to acquisition changes.

    Advice to Management

Unleash the hounds! Dog will hunt. Remember what made us rocket to the success we enjoy today and work to avoid policy for the sake of risk management. Risk = reward. No risk = no rewards.

I have been working at Ruckus Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good technology and good team collaboration across business units

    Cons

Acquired 3x in a little over a year and has lost it's place and momentum in the market. In need of more experienced executive level leadership to pull itself out... unless Arris plans to integrate the products into their core offering rather than running independently.

I have been working at Ruckus Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Technology leaders, strong footprint in the market, consistently profitable

    Cons

Acquired by Brocade, then divested by Broadcom when Broadcom purchased Brocade. This series of events has created a lot of internal and external confusion and dramatically lowered the internal morale. Any newcomers will be handed a large helping of integration baggage that will likely take multiple quarters to resolve/stabilize

I have been working at Ruckus Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place for an engineer. Lot of interesting work. The current uncertainty with potential divestiture sucks but it is expected to settle down soon. The leadership team has been bold with many changes in engineering and most have had a positive impact on quality and results. It is a strong team and definitely the best products in the industry. Hopefully the team stays intact or it would be a shame.

    Cons

Current uncertainty. Got acquired two times and still uncertain about the future home

    Advice to Management

On the engineering side, continue the focus on quality first.
