I have been working at Rudolph Technologies as an intern

    Pros

Best learning experience. Got to work in real semiconductor world. Customer Suport, project deadline and great work culture

    Cons

I have been working at Rudolph Technologies full-time

    Pros

The company benefits are on par with most. I certainly have no complaints about how I personally been compensated. 401k match, bonus program are a plus.

    Cons

The semiconductor industry is a cyclical industry and not for the faint of heart. Investment in new acquisitions and new business ventures could be better.

  3. "Rudolph in general is a great company to be a part of and to work for, your effors are always recognized."

    Pros

Rudolpph Although is a small company, It has pleanty of equipment ( technology ) that you can learn and work with. The training experience I had was great even though the most you learn is on the road. At Rudolph there not such a thing as micromanaging, they offer on site positions as well as traveling positions.
Its not hard to become proeficient because the knowledge is well share between all workers. Rudolph counts with a technical support team 24 / 7 that is always willing to help you out as a coworker or as a customer.
If you are willing to relocate there will always be a position por you for the most part. The salaries in my opinion are competitive.

    Cons

With the economy as it is there are a lot of cost cuting efforts unfortunatelly this means small raises and unless you would like to travel or moved to another city not much growth. Vacation time when an onsite position sometimes could pose a problem because there should be somebody covering the contract with the customer, but for the most part all of the supervisors / managers will work with you so you can enjoy the time off. This could be a downside or a plus for some people, sometimes there is plenty work to do that OT is necesary. Your shift could vary from compress to M - F with out a salary compensation.

    Advice to Management

I'm really happy with managers ( no comment )

I worked at Rudolph Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The CEO built this company through well thought out acquisitions. The people are like a big family. The CEO is brilliant and commands an audience with investors and customers and this has made the company strong.

    Cons

The semiconductor equipment market is not for the faint of heart as it's very cyclical. That being said, Rudolph has a balance of offerings in the front and back end and this helps smooth things out some as these markets have offset cycles (again brilliantly crafted by the CEO). One downside is that the CEO is well past normal retirement age and will have to hang it up in the not too distant future. There are no viable internal candidates to take over although the COO might be considered but he is an entrepreneurial software R&D person at the core and has little outside experience and wouldn't fare well on the street side of being CEO.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and strategy execution. Strengthen the senior management bench to support the upcoming CEO transition

    Pros

Great place for ambitious and creative people to work. New COO has been driving many positive changes and has raised the bar for performance

    Cons

Tough cycle industry but they manage it better than other companies in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Continue to follow culture changes and raise the bar... Many of the employees want to win and enjoy the challenge and rewards!

Flexibility, nice management, work environment is great, people are good.
You can have a balance between work and personal life here.

Stressful at times, but not too bad. Sometimes the communication between groups is lacking which could lead to additional work.
