I worked at Rugged Wearhouse full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get first dibs on good deals.

    Cons

The store is always a mess because there's never enough payroll to have proper coverage to keep it clean, which also makes management have to do almost everything. I felt like a "glorified" associate.

I worked at Rugged Wearhouse part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You have all the leisure time in the world with this place.

    Cons

You are promised extra hours and opportunities and there are none. You will receive a schedule and it will be changed several times because of lack of management training. The manager is so laid back that everyone walks all over him and does seem to mind.

    Advice to Management

Clean house, starting with management. A small store should not have 4 assistant managers and still manage to be a trashed store. As manager you should be attentive to what is going on in the store.

I have been working at Rugged Wearhouse (More than a year)

    Pros

New potential sales bonus is a step in the right direction. Early development and rollout of best practices that several other retailers have used

    Cons

No communication between upper levels of management and the store. Need better coaching tools and incentives to keep on staff members

    Advice to Management

Engagement between upper management and store management teams excluding store managers is almost nonexistent
