I worked at Rural/Metro Medical Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I was able to work independently on a daily basis. Learn new information and grow in the
    company.

    Cons

Company was sold to a holding company that didn't care about people. You were just a number.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the way you ran company in 2006

I have been working at Rural/Metro Medical Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience in emergency medical service. Wide range of areas to gain experience in 911 (inner city to rural area). Great coworkers that make the job worth it for some.

    Cons

Horrible pay, crappy management, horrible dispatch center. ALWAYS OUT LATE.

    Advice to Management

If they could pay the living wage, and hire people that know how to run a emergency service it would be one of the best services in the nation, but we constantly put peoples lives in danger by not having all the equipment needed to meet NYS DOH standards. If management could actually care about their employees it would be 1,000 times better. High turn over rate due to lack of decent wage and frustration with the company.

I worked at Rural/Metro Medical Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I am new here so far it seems like it is laid back not too much office gossip and drama.

    Cons

Training or lack there of you get stuck with another employee and watch them work for two weeks on the last day you are expected to know how to navigate through the system and you sign paper work stating that you learned when in fact you just wasted two weeks watching someone wore the office space is also very crowded and many of the employees are very unprofessional there is also not it to speak of and the equipment is very out dated.

    Advice to Management

Not sure as of yet still very new and getting the feel for the place but as far as I can tell the management is ok
