I worked at Rush Memorial Hospital part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are great--there is a sense of family amongst most coworkers. Small, close to home. A lot of great people who truly care about the community work here.

    Cons

Underpaid and under appreciated! In the words of our CEO--healthcare workers are "a dime a dozen"...so if you don't conform to managements ways, they will find a way out for you by targeting you and waiting for you to mess up.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the talented employees you have. I think you'll find that even though we are "a dime a dozen", the talented ones are not easy to replace.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Is a relatively relaxed place to be and work and where everyone seems accepting of one another as individuals, whomever they may be.

    Cons

Very separated/departmentalized workplace where each group (department) of work people seems to care little for every other set and their assignments, and only care for the helping of their own.

    Advice to Management

Work more to help bring the individual departments together, so that they may work together in union more often and productively.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Rush Memorial Hospital full-time

    Pros

close to home, I don't have to drive out of town

    Cons

The administration does not support its employees. They would rather we would rat each other out for minor infractions, than have us build a team rapport. The believe that anyone that is licensed is qualified. I do not feel valued. They start different projects, which cost money to start up, such as LEAN or Six Sigma and then do nothing with them. There is no room to grow. There are few if any raises.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs to go. The HR department needs to figure out what is going on outside of their department.

    Cons

Poor moral values in management. Bulling tactics. No advancement in job or money. Management does not stand behind there employees. Pay is below average.
