I worked at Russ Reid Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people you work with are amazing and truly feel like family. There's a good mix of fun & work. Easy to grow and be promoted. Many learning opportunities.

    Cons

Team structures, client loads and processes are ever changing. As soon as one thing starts to make sense - it changes again. There were two major departmental restructures while I was there.

    Advice to Management

Every time there's a huge change, it affects morale severely. Find a way to assure your employees and provide them with new opportunities in the new reality.

I worked at Russ Reid Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great people and great causes

    Cons

Outdated software and technology, poor morale, low wages, distrust of upper management, and a lay-off culture that led to constant feelings of job insecurity

I worked at Russ Reid Company full-time

    Pros

They have a good mission and some of the people are fantastic.

    Cons

This is literally the worst place I have ever worked. Don't do what I did and try to give them the benefit of the doubt, read the rest of the reviews and take them into full consideration before accepting an offer. Management treats employees awful, yelling, talking down, trying to make you feel small. There are very few opportunities for growth, they under pay, there is a TON of work, with zero perks (except wine, if...

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees that leave. Stop promoting people that are cheap and milking them for all they are worth.

I have been working at Russ Reid Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Everyone you work with is more than willing to help you learn and achieve your career goals. From the moment I started at Russ Reid to over 2 years later, if there is something I do not understand or need more help with, I can count on any fellow employee to help me understand and master the process. The benefits are great and the opportunities to advance are there as long as you do the work.

    Cons

Hours can be long, but the idea of work life balance is pushed by managers.

I have been working at Russ Reid Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Russ Reid is filled with extremely talented and knowledgable employees in the direct response marketing space. They use proven tactics to grow hundreds of organizations beyond what they could do on their own. There is much room for growth and multiple programs built to aid employees in their professional growth.

    Cons

Because of Russ Reid's scope of work, many join and are disappointed that the majority of time is focused on traditional DR marketing methods. Though I agree that the vehicles used yield the best results for clients, more effort into innovation, finding new business opportunities and experimentation could be beneficial long-term.

I worked at Russ Reid Company

    Pros

Great benefits, lower employee turnover than a typical ad agency, employees are full of heart and passionate about what they do. Semi-flexible hours during the day, or ability to work from home from time to time if necessary.

    Cons

Hectic, uneducated clients, lots of women, lots of grads from local Christian universities, poor general work/life balance amongst employees, very Christian environment--almost too much, wish the company was more creative/laid back, not cutting edge advertising, company is very process driven to a fault, insanely low pay for job responsibilities and location, but the company gets away with it because the clients are non...

    Advice to Management

Prove/make clear--often-- to your employees that you truly value their sacrifice and hard work for the agency. Even if it comes to spending your own money to make your colleague feel appreciated.

I worked at Russ Reid Company

    Pros

Omnicom Agency AEs get up to 3 weeks PTO Summer Fridays

    Cons

Underlying Christian favoritism, can't prove it- but know it's there Over Process Driven. To the point where it's sometimes debilitating. And doesn't render good profits Very heirarchial. Not very open to growth, unless you're some senior management's "favorite". In which case, all the doors open for you

    Advice to Management

carefully watch the employees. they work too hard. too fast. and suffer burn-out easily.

I worked at Russ Reid Company for less than a year

    Pros

wonderful leadership team and great work culture that provides a Growing U program to help employees learn and develop beyond their current role. Summer Fridays you get 1/2 days from Memorial Day to Labor Day and the people you work with are generally quite amazing.

    Cons

The pay is much lower than you'd get from a corporate marketing company and either lower compared to other industry partners serving non profits. The staff turnover is challenging, especially among the lower level employees and the hours can be quite demanding (which is challenging given the pay level).
