I have been working at Russell Reynolds for less than a year

    Pros

Shaping leadership, working directly with CEOs and board members, really cool and smart colleagues, more collaborative than the other big search firms, lots of women in senior positions, commitment to diversity, more levels/opportunities for younger search consultants (Associates at RRA are more senior than at other firms)

    Cons

Can be very stressful, demanding clients, some people don't like the 'black box' bonus structure, need to be sponsored by a strong leader at the firm or tough to succeed. People at smaller offices have less support and are at a disadvantage.

I have been working at Russell Reynolds full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits like high salary, low cost insurance, yearly bonus, yearly profit sharing and 3 weeks PTO to start. Nice people for the most part. Good in-office amenities likes drinks and snacks. Lots of work to do and very challenging work. Never a dull moment. Higher ups have made strides to imporbe company culture and work life balance.

    Cons

Old school mentality around flexible work schedules, telecommuting, etc... If your consultant is bad, your life will be miserable as an EA. Tit-for-Tat office politics and tattle-tailing amongst support staff. Feels like there is a lack of respect for support staff. Feel like we are not as important to the firm. There are no "career paths" for most employees. EAs stay EAs, Researchers stay researchers, etc...

I worked at Russell Reynolds full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pay and the city view.

    Cons

There was absolutely no flexibility or trust associated with the executive assistant position. It was a dead end job with zero respect. I was thrilled to leave.

I worked at Russell Reynolds for more than 3 years

    Pros

Paid overtime was a big plus! Variety of work assignments and the meeting and coordinating of many different people.

    Cons

Partners had double-standard that favored the minorities. There was a lack of morals... lying to clients and candidates. NO integrity.

I worked at Russell Reynolds full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent pedigree, you can see what the business looks like at the top of the house. Exciting stuff.

    Cons

Unless you are a Partner or Consultant forget about progression. In a Research role, you are treated like a disposable commodity and don't get to share in the profits in any way. Working your way up is a near impossibility and the system is engineered against moving from Research to Consultant or Partner. RRA prides itself on hiring consultants from other industries (which does make sense from a client credibility perspective) but working for Consultants that have no executive search experience is extremely frustrating, and will burn out support staff very quickly.
