Ryan is industry famous for their exceptional work/life balance. They treat you like a member of the Ryan family, and it is a wonderful place to work.

I have been working at Ryan Companies US full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I work with on a daily basis are great. Working on noteworthy projects is enjoyable and it is exciting to be a part of a company that is growing with the economy. The culture is real, feels like a company that is much smaller than it really is. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Feel like overall salaries are still below industry benchmarks for a company with this large of a portfolio. Work can be very stressful on a day to day basis. Pretty typical that you work each week way more than the amount of hours you get paid esp with constant connectivity.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose sight of the employees that bring the projects to fruition. In order to retain the best salary will have to increase as the economy becomes stronger.

There is nothing like Ryan. They stand behind their values, their passion, and their commitment to the community. I love my job, and I love coming to work every day. I love it, because I know my company cares.

    Cons

Our reputation is strong, but we are still working to get the word out!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. The communication and approachability is appreciated!

    Pros

Great firm in town with enjoyable coworkers and collegial culture. Opportunity to work on noteworthy projects is good.

    Cons

Limited mobility within the firm despite being an integrated real estate operator. Pay is below market. Lack of support from management to grow.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees needs, empower them, and you will attract and retain the best in the business. Pay should be increased in order to compete with the top firms in RE.

    Pros

The culture is fantastic, based on trust and family the office has a truly unique energy to it. Everyone from top executives, mid management, and entry level are enjoyable to talk with. People here are genuinely happy, understanding, and supportive of each other in the office.

    Cons

I was there a short time, but I understand that there has been a recent slow down in upward mobility as there are such strong teams ready for promotions, and with great teams there's very low turnover rate. Basically, once you're in it's amazing. Hardly a con honestly.

    Advice to Management

Keep up what you're doing, it's noticed at all levels that the company culture is thriving and is benefiting the business.

    Pros

Great place to work. Culture is instilled from the top down. Very little office politics; mostly a great group of professionals who believe in what they are doing.

    Cons

Training and onboarding can lack. No clear technology plan and much is implemented without coordination with existing systems. Not that the firm is behind on technology- very current. Just too many systems that don't interact. (And I do not work in the IS group).

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Stay approachable and engaged with staff at all levels.

    Pros

As a lead tradesmen I'm guaranteed at least 40 hours (most weeks). Most of my superiors are very professional. Young superintendents and assistants are not so much. Our field coordinators have realistic expectations and are always sizing up people for future leadership positions. This is the best place I have ever worked.

    Cons

My job gets boring. I always find myself eager for next level challenges.

    Advice to Management

If a person is told they will inherit upward position, show them by letting them shadow and assist. Any and all companies TELL employees that they are on their way.

    Pros

A solid company overall. People are there to cooperate and get work done, and you will be treated fairly.

    Cons

Information Technology is not really viewed as an asset, and you won't feel like your contribution as a technical resource is valued.

    Advice to Management

Information technology workers are integral to the companies success.
