I have been working at Ryder System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to work with a company that is named as One of America's Best Employers by Forbes and one that shows so much support to the military. Ryder truly cares about their employees.

    Cons

Would love to have more Ryder locations in the Western Kentucky area to allow for more promotional opportunities for employees who are not as mobile.

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

competitive pay, along with proper training, and many locations to choose from for hire or transfer to. safest work environment ive ever worked in

    Cons

management is poorly run, techs are required to do too much with too little of expected time for completion of work, pay should be better.

    Advice to Management

Don't run the company from your wallets point of view, run it from your techs point, without them you have no business and as much as you may not like to hear it, they know better than most of the suits will ever know about what works and what doesn't.

I worked at Ryder System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good paying company, Good Benefits and 2 weeks PTO from the get go

    Cons

Service managers and Supervisors 9 times out of 10 will chose what's best for them and their shop than you as their employee.

    Advice to Management

Do things the correct way, allow techs to go to the needed classes and fix the broken tools in your shops! There is a guideline for a reason!

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ryder has employees that have been working for the company for over 15 years, 25 years and even 30 years. This is good news because that means that Ryder values their employees.

    Cons

The transportation/ logistics industry is not doing so hot as of right now. Because of this RYDER has to make several big decisions to either down size the company or let several hand full of employees go in order to stay afloat during the down times.
