I have been working at Ryder System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Salary is okay, benefits are great, stable business with growth opportunities. Accrue 2 weeks vacation and 5 days sick the moment you get hired, so no waiting for that

    Cons

Management seems to micromanage way too much and not focus on the bigger picture. Employees with horrible attitudes don't get disciplined because management is too busy doing the work of their employees instead of letting them do their job.

    Advice to Management

Anyone can learn and take the place of an employee with a rotten attitude. They're not worth the headache.

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company pays well but expects a lot of hours in return. over 60 hours a week.

    Cons

Long hours, poor communication, everyone else's fault but their own for poor performance, no training, always asked to work outside of your position.

    Advice to Management

Train your people and stop all the meetings. Just do the task at hand. Too many meetings to talk about getting something done and never completing it.

I worked at Ryder System (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to grow rapidly if you willing to work hard and then relocate.

    Cons

Be prepared to communicate to your manager that it's Ryder, Family and Faith. It's a company that frowns upon not putting them first in all parts of your life. The work, life and balance is quite complicated within this company.

    Advice to Management

Hire the person that has the experience and not the person that's ready to put Ryder first before their family. Unusual company but most employee's will tell you that work, life and balance is extremely difficult within this company due to the managers that are unqualified that received promotions within for playing politics.
