    Pros

The salary is definitely a plus, the experience that you gain with the company in logistics is a plus for future jobs.

    Cons

The atmosphere is horrible, if you enjoy working in an oven then this is the place for you. Even working in the office the temperature is a constant 80 degrees with NO airflow, and when the A/C is blowing it is only blowing mold and dust. Management does not respect the employees, Ryder employees themselves are treated horribly by GM employees.

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pros for me have to be the fact that I only worked 4 days a week, Tue - Fri, and the compensation is decent, not great, just decent. California drivers will start at $16.00 (class B) and $18.00 (class A).

    Cons

You will work 14 hours per day, no if's and's, or but's about it. They will run you ragged. Dispatch always loses our time sheets almost daily, so there are times where you don't get paid on time. The account managers expect you to do their jobs for them. If you need anything, don't count on it being fulfilled. I never received new uniforms either, instead I had to purchase my own.

    Advice to Management

Do your what you're paid to do. Stop harassing your employees on their days off to cover issues you should be taking care of. And for goodness sake, pay more money!

Drill down and see how many long term managers have left in the past 3 years and why ?

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Monthly events geared toward improving moral and keeping things fun for the employees, some departments offer flex schedule and work from home options

    Cons

Management that blames employees for poor department performance, HR that does not know how to keep concerns brought to them confidential, unwillingness to promote from within; "old boys network" still in full effect when it comes to promoting

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and provide them with opportunities to excel

I have been working at Ryder System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Company is not afraid to pay for your overtime

    Cons

    - People call off on the same day, will be co-workers' responsibility
    - Long hours, 10-hour shift is expected.
    - Lunch time is 30 minutes and most people eat their lunch on their desk working

    Advice to Management

Management has to do something about overtime. At the end, company spends more money but employees do not get paid enough because overtime gets more tax reductions
