I worked at Ryobi Die Casting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Well-rounded training. Workers are trained in troubleshooting, forklift operation, die setup and changes, and more.

    Cons

First, overtime is abundant. Second, I worked here and went on orders for the military (~2 weeks). Upon return, all paperwork was sent to HR. A few weeks later, I was walked out because they never filed the paperwork. Was told I would be called back to work once it was filed, but was never called. Took my badge, making it impossible to speak with supervisors about coming back.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you're doing your own job, not just watching us do ours. Don't promise something and go behind your word because your cowardice is stronger than your professionalism.

+Overtime is forced on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Get your head out of there and focus on your associates

I have been working at Ryobi Die Casting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Decent compensation for certain positions.

    Cons

Poor communication and coordination from top to bottom and department to department. Even people in the same department do not know what is going on half of the time.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more. Be more logical in your actions. Think things through. Listen to your people.

I have been working at Ryobi Die Casting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not much supervision and easily able to hide instead of working

    Cons

Poor management and no advancement opportunities

    Advice to Management

New management doesn't mean its good management. Maybe promote within instead of hiring cheap people outside with little to no experience in the field they are managing

I worked at Ryobi Die Casting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The onsite medical clinic. It's the same as when you go to any regular doctor's office. You get free diabetic screening's/medication and supplies. a lot of no cost prescription's. Free physicals and blood work and much more. I loved it. Saves a lot of money. You do have to have insurance in order to use the clinic.
They do have insurance and 401 K, short/long term disability, dental & vision

    Cons

Not enough pay, No fairness, favoritism even from supervisor's/management, cannot change positions without starting all over including, but not limited to being interviewed for that position (they do not care how long you have been with the company, you still start over) Seniority means absolutely nothing!! ( I worked there for 8 years & I lost my position due to downsizing, trust me I know!) high turn over rates," no fault" attendance policy (your allowed up to 8 point's then terminated) no sick or personal days. no heat/air conditioning unless you work in plant 2, a lot of times there is way entirely to much overtime. I could go on, but I'm going to stop there.

    Pros

Great company with and if ever the sales group is aligned with the operations team the sky is the limit with this company. The growth potential can actually be overwhelming at times.

    Cons

Quality and manufacturing are not working together as a team. Responsibilities are not clearly defined and these gray areas overload the manufacturing teams from being able to effectively improve quality and productivity.

    Advice to Management

Define, align, and hold departments accountable once clear responsibilities are communicated.

I have been working at Ryobi Die Casting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job seems pretty solid so far. I have been treated with respect and there is an eagerness to teach me the right way to do things. The company has an on site medical clinic that is free of charge to its associate workers thru the week and they allow you to go to the local area med check clinic they have a contract with on Saturdays free of charge. This company seems to really value their employees and the local area.

    Cons

The pay seems low for what I am doing but no one starts out at the top. Long hours seems to be the norm.Even tho there are some cons they dont over shadow the pro's!

    Advice to Management

Haven't been there long enough to advise
