    I worked at S & B Engineers and Constructors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A true team environment where people genuinely care about each other.
Safety - THE best in the industry.
Opportunity to build a strong relationship with the client; to the point where even the most minor of concerns could be openly discussed and resolved to meet both parties' needs.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Diversify project portfolio and get creative to capture market-share; even if doing so involves small to moderate risk. Sometimes the biggest risk can be not taking one at all. Other than that, keep up the great work. You guys have built up one of the best companies in the industry and you should be extremely proud of what you have accomplished.

    I have been working at S & B Engineers and Constructors full-time

    Pros

S & B is an excellent company to work for; personnel are exceptional, and S & B operates a very professional, forthright business. S & B offers a data management system that appears to be the best in the industry.

    Cons

The EPC industry is cyclical, too busy when industry is booming, too slow is when industry is sluggish. Layoffs are a possibility when industry is slow.

    Pros

Good company to work for. Family oriented.

    Cons

Hard to get into the company. You need to know someone a lot of times.

    I worked at S & B Engineers and Constructors full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Organized and a lot of quality people of people to work with. S&B has many systems in place to stay very organized and keep everyone on the same page. There's many very qualified people with a wealth of knowledge.

    Cons

Way to much overhead, sick time policy and holiday policy. Seems like if S&B would trim the overhead they would secure more work. Sick time policy is joke because you have to use 16 hours of your time before you can touch your sick time. No Memorial Day holiday pay and depending on where the holiday falls determines on either a full 9 hours or a half 4.5 hours of pay, even through everyone works 10 hours a day.

    Advice to Management

Some managers need some training in additional leadership skills.

    I worked at S & B Engineers and Constructors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great team environment and nice people to work for and with. I would return if a position becomes available.

    Cons

Oil industry downturn decreased new projects coming into S&B, which precipitated Process layoffs. Not company's fault. Most/all the E&C companies have been hurting for new work since 1/2016. S&B has a flat management hierarchy - not a criticism.

    Advice to Management

Management has done the best they can do to hold onto employees in this difficult economic environment. A good place to work, enjoy work, make friends, go home and raise a family.

    I worked at S & B Engineers and Constructors full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Less work place pressure than my experience with large companies. They would really rather do it right than fast. The attention to their safety record is real whether it's the office or the field.

    Cons

The pay is a bit less than large companies. Due to medium size and an overall a older average age of the employees the insurance costs are a bit higher.

Good environment and Flexible work hours

    Cons

Employee should be placed in the office closer to his/her home rather than the farthest.
