    Disapproves of CEO

    I have been working at S & S Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Good experience in an established company, management will go to bat for you if you put in the effort.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive within the market, and the commissions do not supplement the balance. Very isolating environment, cold in a literal sense, very bleak. Very limited interaction between coworkers. I've quite literally made higher commissions in one sale making a skateboard at the mall. It think it was $80 or something like that.

    Advice to Management

Have the sense to acknowledge when your company is failing to hold up their end of the bargain, and not expect the sales staff to beat their goals regardless of the position you have put them in. It is critical that you adjust your approach to employee compensation.

    I worked at S & S Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Often had free food, coffee, Tee shirt and prize giveaways.

    Cons

This is a very old company, and while the CEO's appear to be modernizing, the middle management philosophies are draconic and often counterproductive. It is a toxic work environment with a lot of corporate narcissism.

    Advice to Management

A profitable year does not indicate a well run company. Take a hard look at why you are burning through so many employees and stop telling yourself good help is hard to find. It's not the employees, it's your management policies and practices.

    I worked at S & S Worldwide part-time

    Pros

Easy work Many students Nice town Friendly people Accommodating If you work hard, they'll be lenient with errors. Management cares for what it's worth.

    Cons

It's what you'd expect for low skill work. Warehouse can be dirty, but not health concerning.

    Advice to Management

There is often the issue with belt malfunctions. Fixing this exploding belt should be a priority.

I have been working at S & S Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

S&S is a family-owned company with big plans. The co-presidents are fourth-generation descendants of the company founder. Sitting on a legacy of over 100 years, they are determined to keep the company relevant and are prepared to spend and work to make that happen. They are smart and capable.

    Cons

It's unclear whether their big plans will be successful. Spending lots of $$, work and stress. But (and this is a pro), leadership has the support of the employees. Everyone is rowing (and bailing) the same boat.

    Advice to Management

Your employees have your back. Please have theirs as well. They are not pieces on a chess board.

I have been working at S & S Worldwide full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of incentives and Company celebrations. People for the most part are nice to work with.

    Cons

Management is reactionary and the corporate vision is all over the place. Too much pressure for the money.

    Advice to Management

Give salespeople time to build business relationships. Cuts should not be made in sales when sales are down.
