Advice to Management
I have been working at SAB Information Systems full-time (Less than a year)
Store Manager was very sweet and polite. She listened and was understanding. Very nice owner who is kept in the dark most of the time.
I was hired in October I thought everything was going fine. I received a total of 10hours of training 2 weeks an hour a day. Then given a blue book with all the printouts from the computer programs and access to a learn account. I spent the next month asking other employees questions and looking at the learn account. So you are left alone to teach yourself. If you ask to many questions you will get a snide remark. Around November the Assistant Manager took the blue book and slapped it on my desk and said:I need you to learn this". i was mortified at the way she spoke to me in front of other customers and employees, which is as I found out the way they operate the Dept. I was informed by the other employees that they had been verbally abused since their first day. In turn they had lost good employees because of the way they were treated. Well I wasn't going to take it and I asked a coworker who I could complain to, she directed me to the store manager. I sat in her office and she ate up the story. She then took to their makeshift HR Dept. she listened and informed me she would take care of the matter, and the VP doesn't take matters like this lightly.
The next day when the Manager found out she then called us in the office one by one to tell us the matter was handled. She informed me used no names and it was unlike the Assst to speak in that tone to employees. (which is a flat out lie) . Nothing was done she skirted around the issue. She spoke the same way to employees very rude and unprofessional. So this is normal for them. She also informed me the Asst. was going through issues at home. Very unprofessional to bring personal matters to work then take it out on the employees. I then was treated differently I received a review 2 weeks before my 3 months, I was told I was inadequate and not worth the money I was getting paid. There was a whole paragraph dedicated to the incident about us complaining about the Asst Manager. it was at that point that it hit me. i spoke my mind and I would never be free of the aftermath of speaking badly about one their own, to the big bosses. So they had to prove to them I was the one wrong and not her( the asst manager). I got a terrible review which I thought was unnecessary and completely over exaggerated. I wasn't perfect as a new employee I made mistakes but all new hires do. For the training I received I thought I was doing well. The other employees also informed me they won't train you, you are left on your own. It was funny the employee they liked so much is the one that encouraged me to complain and also told me all the dirt on the treatment of the other workers that had quit. I was fired this week. with no explanation. The Manager told me she didn't feel like telling me why. My advice to anyone who chooses to work at Kalins in the credit dept is be very cautious and watch your back they track the phone usage and track the computer. They micromanage you and expect alot for a very small amount of money. The money I was paid was $13.00 an hour I found out my coworkers made $9.00 an hour. This is why my boss was infuriated that she fought to get me the money I was paid. When I found out how much they made I was shocked. No wonder why she wanted me gone. I called an attorney an intend to fight for my harassment issues. No one person should be treated so horribly by their bosses.
Advice to Management
Fire the Credit Dept Management and hire new management. Management that is current and knows the HR rules and Regs. Bosses that actually act professional.
