    I worked at SACU full-time

    Pros

    Many learning opportunities for staff.

    Cons

Tenured employees rule. Business, as usual, will always be business as usual.

    I worked at SACU full-time

    Pros

Paid lunches if call volumes are high
    Family environment
Open door policy with middle management

    Cons

For the amount of work member service reps are subject to the pay is extremely low. There is no real support from the back office depts and you spend majority of your shift playing phone tag trying to figure out which dept does what exactly or some other dept delegating you to do someone else's job. Upper management refuses to take accountability for their part in the high call volumes, (i.g; short staffing, being ill equipped for disasters, going through five different platforms to perform one simple task such as a debit card increase, lack of communication and SUPPORT from other depts) but they will micromanage you and make it seem as if EVERYTHING is the reps fault. If call volumes are extremely high be prepared to take 30 min lunches or stay an additional hour or so and still comply with a 20 minute break adherence. No growth potential available within member services or the credit union in general, you have the option of becoming a teller or leaving for RBFCU or SSFCU.

    Advice to Management

    Take accountability
Stop looking at your employees as stats

I worked at SACU full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Started off good... it seemed like the company cared about self awareness and career development. That was not the intent.

    Cons

Too focused on classifying employees and documenting strategies/processes. The actual work never gets done. The theory that management basis decisions on is a joke. Requisite organization is a social experiment with real people. Do not drink the koolaid.

    Advice to Management

Get back to work and leave the psychology at home.

I have been working at SACU full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits
    Many Dedicated, Family-oriented Employees

    Cons

No Longer a Pure Credit Union/Has Changed Lines of Business
Focus Is on Manufactured Home Lending, Not on Members' Financial Well Being

    Advice to Management

Return to Traditional Values When Choosing How to Treat Employees
Be Sure to Deliver the Service that Your TV and Radio Commercials Promise

I worked at SACU full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get insurance regardless of being full time or part time. You also get tuition reimbursement along with part timers earning vacation hours.

    Cons

There's too much drama within the work place and the higher ups don't do anything about it even with managers being on probation already.

    Advice to Management

    CHANGE THE CURRENT MANAGEMENT

    Pros

    Good Medical and Dental Benefits
    Dedicated employees
    Offer a minimal retirement pkg
    Credit Union is small
    Supports education and training
    Understands membership and helps people

    Cons

Bad IT management - not fit to manage people
    Low salaries not competitive
    Does not match 401k
Does not care if employees are dissatisfied

    Advice to Management

Appreciate what employees you have. Upper Management needs to look at their managers and make sure they have the correct skills to manage people. Make Credit Human a place where people want to work, not a company everyone is trying to get out of .

    Pros

Pay is good, my branch was like a big family and I could see that a lot throughout the company as well. CEO meets with all new employees during orientation.

    Cons

Company is going through a lot of big changes

I worked at SACU full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

SACU had decent pay and decent benefits

    Cons

No room for advancement, lots of people leaving due to recent changes, management has been there forever and if they don't like you, you're screwed

    Advice to Management

With all the recent changes that have been made, yet there's been no progress, maybe it's time to look at your management and their "friendships".
