I worked at SAIC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Respectable, friendly work environment. Very professional. Great people to work with at my location. The office is accessible location. Parking no issues.

    Cons

Gov. set pay needs to be more competitive. Fed. Gov. unfortunately sets wage for contractors. I wouldn't have left the company if wage can support a family.

    Advice to Management

Put pressure on Fed. Gov. to raise wage levels. People need to survive and provide for their family.

I worked at SAIC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of different interesting work. People who you work with are smart and tech savvy. I learned a lot of new technologies.

    Cons

Management does not pay for training . Contract budgets are very tight. Schedules are tight. Pay raises are small.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training. Stop reorganizing all the time. Help telecommuters work from home.

I worked at SAIC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

SAIC was a great company to work for. Unfortunately, it lived and died with the contract we had the US Army. I was given carte blanche authority in most cases and was left unabated to run my own ship as I pleased -- just so long as I met my duties and responsibilities. I worked with highly intelligent colleagues and management they were most helpful for advice and help. I was treated with great respect and given wide latitude.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the position lived and died with the contract we had the US Army. It was most unfortunate to be laid off from the best job i ever had -- I am thankful for the five years I did have.

    Advice to Management

You could possibly be a bit more forthcoming in certain areas.

I have been working at SAIC (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good training program. Management followed up with me on 3 month intervals. Had extensive online and in class training available dependent on employee availability.

    Cons

None. I wish I could have stayed longer with the company. Had to leave the company due to very high offer from another company that I couldn't expect current company to match.

    Advice to Management

    Great management
